Still a good opponent for the young buck. He's a legit title challenger for anyone at the weight. Davis could have just as easily picked a dude ranked in the teens of the US or UK domestic scene. Many do just that and don't get ridiculed, especially given the circumstances of being 22 years old and having his third title fight in 8 months.

I don't like Davis' stamina for the long haul, so Roman could actually get real tricky for Davis in the final rounds should he stand up until then. Def picking Gervonta easy, though.

Can't be a good fight if you're picking Gervonta easy, Martinez hasn't won a fight since April 2015, this is a cherry pick for a champ..

He'd been a legit top 10 fighter at 130 for, oh, 7 years or so. He's like a 4 time titlist all at 130. His last win was 2 years ago, sure, against Salido. Then rematched him and fought Lomachenko. Not that big of a deal. Roman doesn't fight the frequent cupcake like most fighters do otherwise he could have a cheap win or two since his last defeat if he wanted it. Not a cherry pick at all, sorry bud.

No, a fighter typically needs at least a year to settle into the weight when they move up. You don't start banging on the door of the top dogs and world champions in the new division until you've fully acclimatized to the weight.

Most take a good year of relative cupcake bouts before stepping up big in a new division. In this era, those that don't are usually superstars.

Given how Martinez was such a credible title holder just last year and how Lomachenko deserved to be Fighter of the Year thanks in part to his victory over him, Davis should surely likewise be considered for that honor if he wins this on top of the Walsh and Pedraza fights.

Just stop. Martinez is coming off of a brutal KO loss to Lomachenko. Martinez is damaged goods. Just stop.

Hasn't won in 2 years, back to back wars with Salido, destroyed mentally and physically by Loma.
    Just not a good fight.
