I thought Chiosra edged the first fight, I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch. When there's been talk of Whyte Vs Michael Grant and if that's the level of opponent they were looking at then I'd happily take Chisora. I'd wouldn't mind seeing Whyte fighting one of Takam, Christian Hammer, Wach, Charles Martin, Miller any of those are OK with me.
I also thought Chiosra edged it out first time around but I don,t think he could do any better and doesn't have the pop to KO Whyte. If it goes ahead I think it would be another Whyte decision (UD) and be far wider..
Are you honestly going to tell us these blokes will earn 4x what Wilder earns for a defense? Deontay Wilder title fight purses vs Molina $1.4mill vs Duhaupus $1.4mill vs Szpilka $1.5mill vs Arreola $1.4mill vs Washington $900k 900k is his smallest purse he usually gets 1.4+, no way either gets $3.6 mill let alone $5.6mill
The only reason Wilder gets those ridiculous purses is because his opponents get paid peanuts. Durhurpas got $70k....considering the guy isn't a draw and only fights guys outside of the top 10 in Alabama it's pretty laughable.
The fight won't do as well as that fight, neither has AJ star power, that's laughable even if it did do the same, how will they split much more than AJ/Whyte? They wont split more than £1.5m, and if they did split it 50/50, they will still earn about the same as Wilders lowest title defense?
So the point being Whyte and Chisora aren't above Wilders pay scale, especially not 4x lol, that's absurd
Anything can happen and the first fight could have gone either way, but the smart money is on Whyte UD. Have to wonder how much longer Chisora can keep doing this for. He's been in a lot of big fights and has absorbed quite a bit of punishment.
What is laughable is your knowlege of the timeline. AJ didn't have massive star power then, he was just a raw novice, as was Whyte. Nobody knew who Dillian Whyte was back then, and he wasn't a Matchroom fighter. The fight was for the British and Commonwealth titles, not high profile at all at World level nowadays. (Sadly). The fight was 13 days before Christmas, not the best time to hold a fight if you want to milk it for all its worth. Not many have AJs star power, but that is irrelevant. If Bellew can earn £5 million in a Haye rematch, after earning around £2 million first fight, then it is certainly conceivable the figures a Whyte v Chisora rematch could generate each fighter. Ignore the power of the Eddie Hearn hype train at your own risk.
This is what makes me fear for Whyte down the line. He is relatively young in Heavyweight terms but has already been in some really hard fights, and that is not counting whatever punishment he took in kickboxing. I just hopes he makes some money whilst he can as he may need it in 20 years.
Ffs AJ won a world title in his very next fight, can't call him a novice. AJ vs Whyte sold more than Brook vs Spence!!!! Bellew is a bigger name in his own right than both Whyte and Chisora but he makes that coin against David Haye!!!! David Haye is a huge name? Bellew wouldn't make near that against anyone else, even AJ because he would just be a b side.
A lot of people don't think Whyte vs Chisora 2 is a big enough fight to headline ppv? It wouldn't be the worst headliner ever though. Don't think Whyte has headlined any show apart from AJ PPV
