So Tiger ted coulda knocked out rocky any time he wanted.. But just held back!? Well of course he held back.. Fighters do that all the time don't they?!

Same baiting racist comments he started when he was black hercules. A real shame he feels the need to act this way instead of trying to contribute to the forum. I'd like to add I am not nor have I ever been a Rocky fan but this is just ridiculous

 

Marciano haters are the most virulently racist posters that you will encounter on boxing forums.

Most of them hate Rocky Marciano because he was white, pure and simple.

 

Would you say the reverse is true? That those that adore him do so because---

 

Not to the same extent no.

Many people adore him for the same reasons that they adore Joe Frazier.

You don't need a racial motive to love an exciting all action swarmer.

 

Some of that definitely exists.
Both are equally dumb.

There are over 4,000 comments on my Marciano video. Over the last year, I've read every single one. So I feel like I have really good grasp of how people think about Marciano.

I would say 3% are pro-White comments.
2% Anti-white comments.
5% saying he is the greatest of all time.
5% saying he was overrated.
And the other 85% referring to him as a great legendary fighter.

I notice younger people seem to care less about race. They just compare all boxers against each other from all time eras based on a Kellerman-esque approach to analyzing.

 

I'm white so I can't be accused of colour prejudice on his behalf though Mendoza tries that one.
A great fighter ? Yes he was. His fans get a bit," over enthusiastic ,"at times but he did all that was asked of him.

 

You fall more into the category of "Marciano skeptic" than "Marciano hater".

A "Marciano hater" would be somebody along the lines of Revolver or Black Hercules, who launches repeated attacks upon Marciano.

With people like that, I think we should tell the truth and shame the devil.

 

Louis wasn`t in his prime when he was beat by Max, he was still far more green than when he blasted Max in a rematch in 1st round, in the first fight Louis was too open to the right hand so he practiced fixing this and his defense became brilliant. Archie Moore had and has more KO`S than any fighter in history and is considered one of the greatest light heavies of all time, so don`t tell me fighters like Moorer and Spinks who also moved up couldn`t be knocked out by Archie, he punched a lot harder than blown up middles, I don`t even think punchers at middle would have been strong enough to fight Archie at light heavy.

 

While I agree Marciano was white and simple, I don't know if he was "pure".
