COONEY, RUDDOCK OR GOLATA, WHO'S MOST LIKELY TO DEFEAT JOSHUA?

3 guys that for whatever reason failed to win a portion of the belt in their own eras. All had strength s and obvious weaknesses and on their best day could give anyone a solid fight. If the 3 were around today who's most likely to defeat AJ? Or in your opinion, would these guys go away empty handed? All in their prime against Joshua of the wlad victory?

 

Golota all round was the much better fighter, but mentally the worst.

Ruddock was much better mentally but technically he was awful. Still he has a punchers chance to KO Joshua.

Are we overrating Joshua though?

 

I think that golota from the bowe fights and ruddock from the tyson fights both stop joshua

 

Wouldn't like to think we was over or under rating him to be honest. The three up against him did well against Holmes, Tyson and Bowe respectively but failed to pick up a belt. I think at the moment with Joshua, these guys could really test him and even possibly defeat him.

 

Golata I've actually picked, he showed everything in the Bowe fights. The downside is of course Golata s mental instability.

 

Golota easily. Id say he's a more well rounded boxer than Joshua but Joshua would beat him because he's a more explosive and sharper puncher.

 

yeah slightly overrating him. All 3 could beat him imo. Ruddock could smash his jaw off with his upperhook

 

watched bowe v golota the other day. Forgot how good Golota could box. He beats AJ from the Bowe fights

 

Yeah i'd go with that

 

He was good in that fight Birmingham, he showed a great jab, over right and took some punishment. Granted it wasn't prime Bowe but nevertheless, very promising looking at that time. Put him in with AJ of the wlad victory and I think Golata does it.

 

Ruddock is more likely to beat him. I'd make AJ a slight favourite still, probably.

 

Ruddock sucked and was technicaly inferior to Golota.
His was his own fault Lewis uppercutted him outta there. His head and positioning was where it shouldn't have been.
Joshua would've done the same job on him.

 

I think all 3 have a shot at beating him, and quite a good one. Lean more towards early versions of Cooney and Ruddock because they were bangers who weren't afraid to get into the trenches. Golota was sometimes to, but he's too inconsistent to reliably pick in any fantasy match up.

 

On paper Golotta has the best chance, but you just know that he would find a way to blow it.

I guess that in the real world Ruddock would be the most likely to turn the trick, simply based on willingness to hang in there.

 

Easily Ruddock. Cooney is in major trouble and Golota would be a wide open slower guy compared to Ruddock. At least ruddock had deceptive speed and could land his own viscious uppercut he had,which he wopuld need bc Joshua wouldnt just wait for that left hook at 6'6 it would have been evaded and nullified in all likelyhood.

Golotas subtle jab come forward style was not as tricky as Razors lean back at times /crouch and explose power punching style. Golota could punch but he had to be stationary for the most part.


The one fault is Razor had trouble with guys who punched down on him or more trouble....though i dont think Golota overall presents bigger threat to him unless he bit him on the neck.
