There's a certain MMA fighter that's going to box an ATG boxer.

The perception is that the MMA fighter would benefit the smaller the glove size.

From what I hear, the boxer has been calling out for them to wear 8oz gloves.
No real response to that suggestion by the MMA fighter.

My thinking is that the MMA fighter is in it and looking to go the distance.
If he can do that, I think he would boast he lasted the distance against one of the greats of the sports in his first ever professional boxing match as a professional.

Does anyone agree with that? I think the MMA fighter wants to wear the 10oz gloves because he knows he gets KTFO by the boxer if they wear the 8oz.
The MMA fighter isn't going to touch the boxer, so why wear 8oz so that he gets hit with less padding by the boxer.

    Wise move MMA fighter!

The initial complaint was there was removed padding but from memory the commission just said they had been "tampered with" so it was likely removed padding. A backup pair of the same style glove was deemed legal tho

If Floyd really wants 8, it's because he's probably nervous of the idea he doesn't stop the 0-0 novice and tarnish his legacy.

Lol no. This fight is guaranteed to be big because of MMA fans who are the primary audience for it. It's the boxing and casuals fan community that will determine whether it breaks the Pacquiao record or not

If you were in Conor's corner on fight night, what gameplan would you employ against Floyd?

If it was me, I'd said, "Conor, fight like Marcos Maidana for 12 rounds, got it?"

Why don't they wear the head gear as well?

8oz definitely favors the boxer. Could be that going the distance is what he has in mind, though he reduces his (astronomically low) puncher's chance.

If they really wanted 8oz, seeing is its not sanctioned by any of the alphabet groups, I think they can work around the 10oz rule for 154 lbs fighters, but maybe you're right.

Connor knows he won't knock Mayweather out with boxing gloves even if he lands

According to Paulie Malignaggi and others who have sparred the MMA fighter, he doesn't have concussive type power with boxing gloves on, so I don't really think MMA fighter even has a punchers chance.

Its going to be a win for the MMA fighter if he lasts the distance, so using the 10oz gloves will benefit him to accomplish that feat.

Well, didn't work, tried discussing the reasons why its beneficial that McGregor us 10oz gloves. Even left the fighters names out of it, but it wound up in this shithole of a thread anyways.

Now who the **** on here is going to decide if talk of Canelo vs GGG gets all thrown in one ****ing thread????

The mods around here don't understand that there are specifics to discuss about matchups, like the glove sizes, but when you throw a thread looking to discuss such a matter into a shithole like this thread, end of such discussion.

That's a real boxing match, not a freak show mismatch between a novice from some wanna-be sport and a real boxer.
