And what do you think that says about Archie Moore, who also barely etched out a victory against Lowry?

    Great find Chok!

Something tells me he was a very durable man.
After all those fights with huge punchers, and a long career, he seems very healthy.

He said Louis couldn't touch him.
And yet people here drag his name through the mud just to discredit Rocky smh

The point of the post was not to reflect on Marciano but to place Lowry in perspective in the pecking order.
The score cards of the Lowry v Moore fight . 8-2 ,8-2,7-2-1. You are desperate aren't you.lol

Lowry held his own with everyone. The kind of quality journeymen that promoters love. It was his job to make it just "tough enough" for the house fighter and he got a Lot of bookings for doing just that.

Roland Lastarza said "it was as much of an honour to fight Ted Lowry as it was to fight Marciano". People in the know knew how good Ted really was.

How foolish is that statement! Lowry was a so , so journeyman and highlighting his losses to other journeymen who had losing records enables us to place him in his proper perspective.Your stupid remark that Moore barely beat Lowry illustrates just how desperate you are to find an excuse as to why Lowry took your hero down to the wire in a fight many think he won.A Lowry who had lost his last seven fights!

    Mathews
    James
    Bean
    Payne
Are just some that had no difficulties with Lowry.

Many people imply the Moore fight was closer than the scorecards show.

A journeyman who fought 4 world champions, beat one of them, and held his own against the others.

Lowry knocked out three guys in one night. This isn't modern matchmaking.

At the end of the day, Lowry was a really good fighter, Marciano was a great fighter.

You should mention Moore was much better at light heavy or people could get his career wrong based on what you just wrote.

Mayweather went life and death with Emmanuel Augustus. Arguably his toughest fight.
Augustus lost 4 of his last 6 fights, and finished his career with a record of 38-34.

    Shock! Horror!

This is how easy it is to play the Mcvey game. A man who will drag some really good people through the mud to feed his agenda and little ego.

"During a 2012 conference call with boxing reporters, Mayweather said Augustus was the toughest fighter he had faced. "I'm going to rate Emanuel Augustus first compared to all the guys that I've faced," Mayweather said. "He didn't have the best record in the sport of boxing, he has never won a world title, but he came to fight."

Can't help if people have obscure interpretations.
    Not my problem.

    Ted Lowry.
Stopped just 3 times in 149 fights, fighting at middleweight to heavyweight, and lives to the ripe old age of 90 with his wits about him.

It's pretty safe to say he was a good skillful journeyman, a defensive boxer.

Here are the scorecards for his bout with Maxim, which he had supposedly been robbed:
    87-99 90-98 95-99

    You are dim, aren't you?
