That would mean that everyone involved would have to be dishonest and conniving. I think the truth is far less complicated. Both parties are already going to make 9 figures. They don't need to create a publicity stunt. I think this situation is a result of Conor's competitiveness, nothing more.

 

They are milking this cash cow for everything. Are you naive enough to think that they aren't above publicizing in such a manor given the fact they are actually staging the sham in the first place?

Ok maybe I should of said it better, I have no doubt sparring got out of hand it happens and words were said previously between these 2 but if the bad blood was so bad why does paulie go there in the first place? Maybe to settle the bad blood? I highly doubt it. More than likely it was money, now if thats the case (even if its not) you don't think this is an easy set up for the hype? Also if mcg was gonna 'deal with' everyone who he talks chit with there might not be many more people left to fight.

this is a good conspiracy, might be true otherwise why would conor waste such valuable time pre-fight (against the greatest fighter of our generation) sparring a retired out of shape paulie. one would think he would spend his last pre-fight weeks sparring a younger in shape higher caliber fighter to prep him for one of TBE.

 

Paulie has no reason to lie about any of these... they made Paulie to look like a chump and he says to hell with it. He knows what happened in the ring, and they chose to show 2 pics that made McGregor look good. If the pics didn't get posted making Paulie look bad he'd have played along with the build-up.

Paulie is a grown ass man with nothing more to prove to the sport. I believe him when he said he whopped on Conor.

 

Malignaggi is the best judge of whether it was wise or unwise to remain in Macgregor's gym as a sparring partner. Judging by the few photos provided where his face appears distorted by a punch or he is on his back on the canvass, it seems that he wasn't having a good time.

 

Unless Greggor was motivated by Pauli saying that he could beat him with one arm free and the other tied behind his back. Then his sparring with Malignaggi does have an understandable agenda. Also to keep in mind that even though Mallignaggi might not be presently in top shape, he did hold a world title and he is knowledgeable in the mechanics of boxing. So he does possess knowledge that could indeed be very useful to McGreggor.

 

who in their right mind brings in a out of shape retired boxer coming off a humiliating loss to a relative unknown, to prepare for one of the greatest ever? i understand that paulie has great skills but he is levels below mayweather and levels below several other potential sparring partners that would have at the least come in in shape.

 

That's why I suspect that the sparring had other motives as I mentioned.
