Post like this is exactly why I even got engaged in this discussion to start with. I don't think you're stupid, but post like this is so ignorant and black or white. Pulev has no power and no chin and no tools to beat Joshua? Last time I saw Joshua he was so gassed that a strong wind could've tipped him over. Pulev has stamina, routine, a solid chin, and enough power to drop Ustinov which i recon should be enough to tip most heavies over. Im not saying I think Pulev will win, I don't. But that doesn't mean I thinks it's a **** fight and Pulev is a bum.
I never said Pulev is a bum, he just has not the style to beat Joshua, tell me what he should actually do when Joshua decides to make an onslaught ? Pulev is not a counterpuncher and Pulev hasn't shown good inside fighting skills in any of his fights, he also has not the movement to keep Joshua at the distance for 12 rounds, it's also very unlikely that he would hurt Joshua or land enough punches to hurt him before he gets knocked out when Wlad Klitschko couldn't knock him out with his best shots. Tell me, do you really believe Pulev has the style to beat Joshua ? What fights would you recommend me to watch that suggests that Pulev is a dangerous opponent for Joshua ?
Ok, so I should replace the word "no" with "not good enough" to understand your post? No, I don't think Pulev will beat Joshua, I neither think Ortiz would. And Pulev vs Ortiz is a pick 'em.
I've been accused of insulting a top 10 heavyweight fighter as a bum because i have said he has not the style to beat the current unified heavyweight champion People really need to calm down.
Pulev wins a round or two, Joshua stops him half way through fight. Pulev has a good chin, and can keep Joshua off him, and cause problems for a few rounds.
If you read it trough again you'll see that Im not saying that you're calling Pulev a bum. That remark was more against the average post in this thread. I'm sorry if you were offended. But remarks as: "A fighter needs things like punching power, movement, inside fighting skills and a good chin to defeat Joshua, Pulev has none of that" surely sounds as you're underestimating him.
I didn't mean he has none of that, every fighter has those things, some people have better inside fighting skills and some people have more or less punching power, they have different strengths, i meant Pulev has not enough of the things he would need to beat Joshua at least in my opinion.
Its not about calming down its knowing what you are talking about which most dont thats to be expected. Pulev has like a 5% chance at Joshua and Ortiz about a 25% chance .It wouldn't take a someone who studys or follows boxing that much thought to figure this one out, which is why i love public polls...lol I will be more shocked if Pulev can actually win just one rnd in this fight, that will impress me enough here. This fight wont get past 4 rnds if Joshua tries to end it.
Look, stylistically, Pulev appears to be the easiest match up for AJ of the top 6. But his resume is clearly top 6, and thus he is a VERY valid defense. Should AJ win? Sure. But you build your resume by BEATING guys with good resumes that you are supposed to beat, not by having people assume you beat them. Ajs ticket to atg is clearing out all the top guys of the division, and there are about 5 guys beneath him who have are all clustered together as being WAY above the rest of the pack. Pulev seems like the perfect guy to start with out of that pack, after having such a great and close run match against Wlad.
Huh? Are you actually so stupid and or tasteless to deny that it was a great match? Edit: I'm rereading everything and suspect maybe you think I meant Wlad Pulev was great? No, I meant AJ Wlad, in that AJ shouldn't have to leap into the next toughest match he can get, after nearly losing to Wlad. Pulev is a very good opponent who will add to his resume and experience, without as much risk as the other top 6 guys. Meanwhile, the Wilders and Ortizs should face each other to make themselves more worthy of a AJ matchup
