Official talks began last month, but the Matchroom promoter has already declared Bellew vs Haye II dead in the water. Bellew won the first fight in March by stopping an injured Haye in the eleventh round of their heavyweight contest. It was a big upset and Bellew has become one of the hottest names in British boxing after stepping up from cruiserweight to fight Haye. Both fighters are keen on a rematch, but Hearn has suggested doing the deal is near impossible. ‘I don’t think Bellew-Haye will happen,’ Hearn told Sky Sports. ‘Although there were hugs and kisses in the ring after the fight, trying to get these two to agree to anything is a complete disaster. ‘Tony Bellew feels like he got the win, so he should get the benefits of that win, and David Haye feels like Bellew still isn’t on his level. ‘When you’re talking about ring walks, who goes first on the poster, changing rooms, splits – all this kind of stuff, it’s impossible. ‘I think at this stage, Bellew-Haye II is virtually dead.’ P.S. Bellew/Ward looks like a no go as well. But Bellew is claiming that Hearn has something for him.Who can it be?Thoughts? http://metro.co.uk/2017/08/03/tony-...virtually-dead-announces-eddie-hearn-6826099/
No need for a rematch. Haye is finished. His performance against Bellew explains why he walked away from the Briggs fight. Haye's mobility is gone and he doesn't have the defense, power, or chin to make up for it.
It was a joke fight to begin with. Haye was the only one with s shot at going anywhere in the heavyweight division. Bellew never had a chance at even unifying the cruiserweight division. Haye should move on and fight a real top ten heavyweight, if he loses retire, if not, back in the big league.
Haye doesn't want to redeem the win. You should do anything in your power to get a man back in the ring if you want to avenge a loss.
Haye no longer believes in himself He is looking to cash out vs AJ However does AJ want to sign to fight an injury prone CW who lost to another CW in his last fight It's not a good marketing message
Exactly it's just like lomachenko vs salido. If someone has a W over you, you should be willing to give them the bigger purse.
Why is it you or I can see this but so many can't,it was obvious what Haye was on with from the start facing bums on Dave channel and I'm also of the opinion that Bellew would of won that night regardless of injury. Haye is a nasty piece of work who thinks so highly of himself,he recently too all proceeds off Sporting Icons on YouTube for using a vid of him, that he's unable to take the terms he expected Bellew to take speaks volumes, nobody talking about Haye and AJ anymore.
