March 8, 1971, FOTC, Ali vs Marciano:

Prime Marciano replaces prime Joe Frazier in the
Fight of the Century version of Ali.

Frazier of course had Ali on Q-street in the 11th,
and knocked Ali down in the 15th.

    Who wins????

It's easy to envision a similar result.

Yeah because the 205 to 210 pound Frazier could beat Ali then clearly that means the 180 ound Marciano could beat Ali. But wait Marciano was out boxed by the 180 pound Roland LaStarza and almost knocked out by the 177 pound Ted Lowry.

Ali knocks out Marciano in the 1st or second round like he did Cleveland Williams. Unless Ali wanted to toyed with and torture Marciano like he did Patterson. Then he would stop Marciano later or whenever he chose.

Ali stated himself Marciano was better than Joe Frazier, and he was.

In my opinion neither Rocky or anyone else puts on the performance Joe did that night. He would not be denied.
I dont think Rocky was as good as Joe anyway.

Marciano bleeds so badly that the referee has no choice but to stop it. This was 1971 and more care was already being taken over bleeding fighters.

The fight would be competitive up until stoppage.

I love this guy's boxing math-

    "Is he black or white?"
    +
    What's the weight discrepancy?"
    =
    Inflammatory racially-fueled wall of drivel

ESB:"Who would win, Hagler or McCallum?"

Black Panther: "Marciano was a bum!"

I agree Joe seriously peaked for the FOTC. I am a fan of Ali and Rocky. I think Ali outpoints him.

The one thing I wonder is if Rock hits him with the right that he hit Jersey Joe with in their first fight - what happens? Ali in '71 could be caught. How would he take the shot?

Fight of the century? Ali easily handles Marciano at that point who would hold his own on the inside if need be.Marciano who is not going to reach Ali like Frazier did with longer reach/longer legs and more equipped footwork, also Frazier never cut unlike Marciano.

Lol Marciano is a bum. I love your logic though. Because Marciano looked like you so you think he was great. You are the same type of person who will say Joe Frazier was too small to compete with modern sized heavyweights then turn around say the 30 pound smaller Marciano could.

Lol Ali never stated this. Ali also never fought Marciano. You ******ed Marciano fans crack me up. Marciano was the most worthless piece of crap who ever put on boxing gloves.

You assume alot, and you're wrong with those assumptions alot. Such is the attitude of those driven by a racist mindset.

You have no credibility to me at all.

Ali by decision in a tough fast fight. Marciano would always apply the pressure and during those times when Ali needed to rest his legs Rocky would do well. I don't think Rock had the quickness or precision of Joe Frazier which his what really bothered Ali. Joe Frazier`s best weapon was that short in close lefthook. Ali was open for that punch and I don't believe Rocky could exploit that was much as Joe did.

Ali absolutely said Marciano was better than Joe Frazier. Ali sparred with Rocky for quite a few days. Ali further said Marciano hit very hard...,"sparring, just playing, and at the end of the day I could barely lift my arms".

Joe was a one handed hwt however. As good a hook he had he lacked coordination in his right hand. Joe never knocked any fighter down at any time in his pro career with his right hand. Marciano in contrast had two fisted KO power. You had to worry about both fists with Rocky. With Joe if you control his hook the ballgame is over.
