I can't believe what I was hearing. 'No Mas' at the end of round 7, TWICE.
All of Loma's opponents just can't handle the heat.

3 straight RTD wins on the books. All appropriate, too. Walters wasn't getting beaten on too badly but he had zero chance so I've no problem with it.

The last 2 fighters were slow as crap and Bob Arum knows this. Anytime a fighter goes 100-1 on bets what that tells you about the opponent.

Marriaga is a featherweight that wasn't even ranked in the top 20. This match was as bad as Danny fighting Rod Salka. Loma is a skilled fighter, but beating the Marriaga's of the world doesn't prove much.

ESPN grossly overbuilt the matchup. Stephen A., Joe T. and Atlas never-ending chatter about an obvious mismatch coming into a WBO grade title fight with the "opponent" losing his last fight out given a title shot. Bob Arum being Bob Arum.

Some guys break jaws. Loma breaks wills. I can't imagine how demoralizing it is to have that kind of tornado in front of you that you can't land on in return. It's like some freak show Fight Night create-a-fighter hybrid of Floyd and Harry Greb.

Given that true one-punch power is one of the very few things he lacks, this won't be the last RTD we see.

Nino LaRocco, a WW #1 contender back in the early 80's had a low-grade Loma style. But then Donald Curry K.O. him and LaRocco went back into the hinterlands.

I'm still bothered that he isn't knocking people out.

It'll probably be a recurring thing with Loma. I doubt we'll see much of that until/unless guys start opening up more offensively against him so he can counter. He's not a concussive puncher to start with, and it's tougher to knock guys out who shell up and focus more on defense.
