Loma was definitely too overeager to impress and put on a show. Even though he thoroughly dominated and outclassed a good fighter in Marriaga, I thought he took too many chances, took some unnecessary risks and ended up getting caught with a few silly shots he shouldn't have. I'm talking just by his lofty standards of defence and elusiveness here though, if any other fighter is that aggressive and stands right in front of their opponent, applying that much pressure and throwing that many punches they're getting hit a whole lot more.

It was only a minor deviation from what he usually does and he only got caught with those shots because he allowed it to happen. The notion that he needs to ''work on his defence'' is as ridiculous as an anorexic girl saying she still needs to lose some more weight. It was solely his bravado and overeagerness to impress that was the problem.

lol he certainly seems to ruffle a lot of feathers.

    And super-feathers too :)

I don't think he'll be around that long. Maybe 5 years and then he'll hang up his gloves.

Good post. Lomachenko seems to suffer from paper skin. I saw one slightly off balance right hook land on him and it caused a black eye, the other side of his face got headbutted so at the end of the fight he looked a bit haggard.

This is the truth, this mentality is PROOF that they are just genuinely threatened by him. Instead of enjoying the career of a Gift to this new boxing generation, they're just too threatened to enjoy the fruits.

Still on that? This guy could win his next 30 fights against A level competition and some of you will still be talking Salido. Why hasnt Salido taken a rematch? Because he knows Loma will light dat a$$ up. We`ll never see that rematch because Salido wants to be "that guy". Funny thing is it was a SD so atleast one judge saw it for loma.

would like loma to fight easter jr at 135. I want to see what he could do to someone 5 ft 11 lol. personally I think loma would figure him out after 2-3 rounds. and stop him late.

Lomachenko fought Han Soon-Chul and Sam Maxwell who are 5'10.
Loma would chop Easter down fairly easily IMO.

lomas the truth, a very special talent, but he hasnt fought anyone special and its giving him a false sense of superiority. when he finally does face someone special in their own right, hes going to have a hard time adjusting mentally. loma reminds me of a hyperactive kid with little life experience, i could almost feel his emotional reactions, as well as mikeys, when they met recently. mikey is special enough to put some questions to loma like barrera put to hamed. and just like marco, hes got the fundamental mastery for the job, in addition to strength, size, and the power to end it with 1. if loma tries any of that cute stuff with mikey, he gets ko'ed.
i think by the third rd. lomas offensive flurries would disappear as he goes on defensive mode with garcia looking to cut off the ring. garcia will be looking to punch with him at every opportunity and the difference in strength will be very apparent as loma keeps getting thrown off balance.
in the end, loma gets outpointed because he gets presented with something very hard to deal with that hes never faced before, like a dirty salido.

Dead on? He hasn't "fought anyone special" yet Walters was special enough for you to pick him.

Now he sucks because he lost!

Walters sold out before the fight and should never be allowed to box again.

This. Mikey's size and strength will be very apparent. He's a sharp counter puncher and can work Loma's body. Loma's talented enough to make it competitive at the very least.

Notice how they always play the age narrative with these fighters? Constantly using a later pro start due to an extensive amateur background as some bizarre form of condemnation. Loma turned 29 in February yet gets called 30 like it is some death sentence or an unclearable impedement.

They routinely add 1-2 years to all these guys ages, it even gets done when they attack me. I made it clear turning 44 in March but they claim i am anywhere from 46 to 50! Odd how they never pull the age card with guys like Rigo or Ortiz even Wilder is no spring chicken and is not improving either.

This is so specious! Why people assume Garcia will have this strength advantage is beyond me. Being bigger does not automatically translate into stronger. Loma does things in his conditioning that Garcia could never do and this will become painfully apparent if they ever fight.

really? its beyond you to understand why people would expect bigger to be stronger?
