Yes because it does always hold true. I recall you speaking about having a training background so this concept should not be met with so much resistance by someone in the know such as yourself.
Very simple on your face all night long letting your arms go not been afraid to be hit kind off lets fight in a phone boot Loma fell into the trap to have street fight. Garcia is a different patient fighter total control of the distance superb jab matched with a well educated powerful right hand solid chin with a good advantage in reach of 3 inches (68-65) for all the Kool-Aid drinkers don't forget what he did to Salido.
On a GRJ vs Mikey Garcia thread from Feb 2012 One poster said ''GRJ will tap that ass'' Manfred's response On a Mikey Garcia invites Gamboa to come get sum thread from 2013 One poster said ''Mikey Garcia will get his toughest test's at north of 130, he is young... just 25 and can still fil in and has the power to move up.. he is gonna be the closest thing possible to a JMM reincarnation for me He won't get truly tested till he takes on bigger guys, his skills and power at 126 is to much for anyone to handle right now at 126'' Manfred replied to it with this On a Whose next for Mikey thread from 2013 GRJ vs Abner Mares thread 2013 One poster said ''Russell Jr. will beat the **** out of Mares right now'' Manfred's response 2013 Loma vs GRJ thread 2014 Another Loma vs GRJ thread After Loma paddled GRJ's ass 2016 2017 I'm away for a couple of days, not sure if I'l definitely be able to hook up to the Internet or not, but I believe this is what you call pwnage
Although I don't agree, that was a really nice breakdown of how Mikey can take it, presented the picture well. Lomachenko is going to have too much respect to toy Mikey, he'll have razor sharp focus and fully invest into his strategy because when he strays from it, he will get caught by Mikey the sharpshooter. @TheyDontBoxNoMore7 and Bandeedo, if Loma beats Mikey convincingly, say a clear 8-4 fight, what would you think of him? I think if Loma underperforms/Mikey is better than I thought, it'll be 8-4. Mikey has the potential to be very dodgy if he commits to pressing the action and cuts off the ring (that's not who he is though, so opportunity wasted).
sometimes the smaller guy is stronger, but when that happens, its an anomaly, not the norm. so if we are going to predict an anomaly between loma and garcia, we have to examine the evidence for that possibility. how did they compare vs salido? how physically dominant did mikey look vs broner, a 147 lb fighter and the strongest fighter maidana said he ever faced vs loma and marriaga, a 126 lb fighter moving up who had a good showing in a losing effort vs a very talented prospect. i just cant see any reasons to expect this anomaly youre so sure is going to happen.
Yep exactly. One idiot ***** in particular on here said "Loma is damn near 30" recently like he's nearing the end of his prime. Lol SMH Yeah he's near 30 and already a two weight world champion and also known as The greatest amateur boxer of all time. Pretty good start!
if loma can beat mikey 8-4, he is the best fighter in the last 25 years. garcia is legitimate p4p and in his absolute prime. to be able to overcome the size difference, the extraordinary skill, and the ko power of mikey and beat him 8-4, thats bigger than any single win either floyd or pac has. i love both guys, but ive seen dozens of similar scenarios in the 40+ years ive followed the sport, what youre talking about loma doing is a very tall order.
Garcia/Loma is a great fight! I like both these guys and can't pick a winner straight of the top of my head. There are some things that won't come to light until fight night. First: Timing....timing can trump speed. That being said, if Garcia can time Loma, I say he stops him. Second: Weight... if Loma can have the same work rate and stamina at 135 that he does at 130 and below, he give fits to Garcia. Third: Power...will Loma carry enough pop up to 135 to bother Garcia. If he doesn't he may have a tough go at it. Lastly: Timing... If Garcia cant time Loma, then Loma runs circles around him.
I've seen other elite fighters toy with their opponents. Ray Leonard did a bunch of clowning in the "No Mas" fight with Duran. Pernell Whitaker fooled around a bit with guys like Luis Ramirez and pantsed Roger Mayweather. Niccolino Locche played with Fuji until the guy gave up. Pacquiao boxed Clottey's ears with a double punch and got warned by the ref for fooling around. James Toney stuck his tongue out at Holyfield. Joe Calzaghe did a little showboating against Jones and Hopkins. Naseem Hamed would show off like Roy Jones. Hector Camacho used to do stuff. Hopkins vs Pavlik. Emmanuel Augustus had a very weird memorable style half fooling around and half meant to confuse that he would switch to sometimes. It's not just Ali or Roy Jones. And when it comes to fighters completely dominating their opponents like that there are a couple every year. Mikey Garcia, Terence Crawford, and Canelo Alvarez did that just this year. Andre Ward has done it a few times. Mayweather, Rigondeaux, etc.
30 years old for a fighter who relies heavily on lateral movement is definitely on the back end of his prime. Essentially, the time is now, not next year, but now.
You don't think Pax coming up from 112 to KO Cotto isn't legit? Or how about Pacquiao just completely destroying MAB. Winning every round except the first and then scoring the KO? Mikey is good, but we don't even know if he's great. He's certainly not as proven as Cotto and not even remotely as proven as Barrera was.
