Because he has a soft spot for skilled feather fisted American welterweights with loud mouths. Can't think why.
99% of current boxers and trainers revere Floyd. Anytime a boxer or trainer speaks about Floyd, they pretty much praise him. Paulie's no different. The only current fighter that's negative towards Floyd, that I can think of is Lomachenko.
Why do you care? And how do you know he hasn't? Have you done extensive research on this subject? ****ing weirdo.
That isn't a Floyd thing. Unless a boxer is a potential opponent then 99 out of 100 times other boxers have a positive opinion about them. What is the point of badmouthing another fighter if you gain nothing from it and potentially lose fans.
I will have a swing at this question.. Paulie regards himself as boxing intellectual, a purest, his style was all about his flashy skills because he never had brute force or any power. Mayweather is a exceptionally skilful defensive fighter, Paulie maybe feels a connection with him (arrogance at its finest), Paulie admires Mayweather and probably believes he has the same boxing IQ and understands what boxing is really all about just like Mayweather. So they meet, Paulie kisses his backside and strokes Mayweathers ego, they become friends and Paulie never says a bad word about the man he wishes he actually was.
