Price had ability - he was the espn prospect of the year- unfortunately his stamina is dreadful and the losses to Thompson robbed him of all confidence. He should never fight again at this point. He regressed so much his Jab is awful and his chin and stamina and confidence are all zilch.

I legit think that Paulie could rock Price badly if he landed something flush.

 

Yeah there was definitely more of a "swagger" and confidence to his game that left him after the losses to Thompson.. But even that he was still very badly flawed. Good right hand and killing instinct - but that's about it... Probably could have done a little more if he mentally embraced the fact that he was a badly flawed glass cannon and gambled. right hand is lethal... He can't box for ****.. Too clunky and robotic, terrible pushing jab etc.

 

The sequence of punches he landed against Eggington at the end of one of those middle rounds crack Prices Egg chin!

 

On a serious note, who do you think the lowest weight guy is that could actually put Pricey down for a count if they landed their hardest punch on him?

Golovkin? Or are we going to drop down even lower than that?

 

If he could get full leverage and somehow land it with the same force that he did on Stevens... Do you think Price could eat that left hook? at the very least.. Stevenson, Kovalev, Beterbiev, Gvozdyk and Smith Jr. + others at LHW certainly care more than enough wallop to KO him.

Thats a very good point.
In the UK, HWs tend to get stepped up alot sooner in their careers. I said this before and looked at how Price and Wilder had been matched.
Price in his 14th fight faced A Harrison. 6 months later Wilder in his 28th fight faced the same Harrison that Price had blasted out 6 months previously. Wilder in his 14th fight was facing an 11-38-0 fighter who had fought at 160 previously.
I think Price could have gone further if matched the same. He would have gained valuable experience in that time.
