Weight classes exist for a reason. Although there are plenty of MMA guys who could beat Tyson in MMA or a street fight.
Conor is a big, strong Light Middleweight in boxing, who will actually come into this fight at 175lbs (with the frame of a strong Light Middleweight). Tyson would come in at 210lbs. Conor is big enough to ruin Tyson on the ground - despite Tyson's size, he just won't possess the intelligence to keep Conor in position. Conor could also use leg kicks to neutralise Tyson a little. But damn, one good shot by Tyson without gloves (who I always believed would cross over fantastically to MMA) and Conor could die. Tyson has a very, very live chance against any UFC Heavyweight champion.
I think McGregor is overrated as MMA fighter, there are clearly better guys p4p than him - Jon Jones, Miocic and Cormier all are better, but none of them is as popular or even close.
How would Tyson react to 265 lb + man double legging him to concrete? I seriously doubt you understand all of the dynamics involved with MMA, and how they could potentially impact a street fight vs. someone who's not familiar with grappling or kicking. Of course Tyson was a complete savage who could also knock any of them out if he landed flush enough.
I wouldn't argue with you there... However being a multiple division champ gives him a solid case for being P4P.
Could someone please explain to me how half the posters on this site miss the glaringly obvious fact that CONOR spells his name like this... CONOR, not like this... CONNER or CONNOR, why hasn't that clicked with many of you? Do you have eyes? Doesn't the odd spelling stick in your head? Its not that hard is it?
He has a 100% chance at winning if he's not knocked out while shooting for a takedown. Considering he's an experienced amateur boxer himself, great wrestler and knows how to time his shots and avoid getting caught with punches.. I'd say he has a better chance at winning a 1v1 street fight.
I never trained in this mma stuff but I trained in boxing and karate and am amazed that you mma practioners think that this martial art form is so superior to other fighting forms in a street fight. First of all, Tyson was a streefighter before he learned how to box. Tyson would destroy most of these mma fighters in a street fight.
Not easy to shoot on the cobbles unless you get a dude against a wall and even getting Mike down he ain't going to fight clean, he'll be hooking gouging, testicle grabbing and biting. Mike clips him and he goes to sleep so I get why he'd shoot for the legs.
