A month before the Canelo fight, what happened to the last few years?

You are see through, you are doing one of two things, depends which way the result goes..

either you're trying to make Canelo's beating look a little better because you don't want him beaten up by a "bum" or you want to make Canelo's win look better because after all if Canelo wins he only beat a "bum".

Embarrassing request this close to the fight after all the trash that's been talk on these boards for the last couple of years.

 

There have been thousands and thousands of middleweights over the years.

How many of those middleweights were prime when they were 35 years old?

 

If canelo beats him you can call him whatever you want.

I read where Canelo stated that he or GGG could get knocked out. It's different tune from him being positive that was going to stop GGG. Maybe there's doubt creeping in on him.

 

So you wanted a pre prime Canelo in their with GGG? That makes no sense smh

 

The better question is.. How many of those 35 year old got to fight the bum of the month club up until that age? He hasn't slipped.. He's fighting better fighters. Simple as that.

 

He's 35. Simple as that.

Out of all those thousands of middleweights over the years how many were prime when they were 35 years old? Feel free to provide a list of names to support your theory. I'm betting it will be a very, very short list...

 

35 years old doesn't means out of prime in 2017. This isn't 1950 anymore. Nutrition.. Training methods have better'd. GGG hasn't taken any crazy amounts of punishment.. He was fighting such terrible competition that he's on record saying "I got hit on purpose". When GGG gets starched those out of prime cries will go in one ear and out the other.

 

I wanted to see Golovkin at his best in with the best fighters available, which the best fighters in his division robbed us of.

 

That's a myth. The idea that Canelo only decided to fight him after he saw Triple G struggle vs Jacobs only serves as a way to discredit Canelo's propensity to dare to be great. Another myth is that Triple G intentionally looked bad against Kell Brook and got marked up vs Kell to get Canelo to fight him. Oscar said long before the Jacobs fight that the fight would happen September 2017. I do think that for the Kell Brook fight Gennady knowing he was fighting a smaller guy without much power allowed himself to get hit more than he should have and that may have caused him to take unnecessary damage. Going into the Brook fight, many did observe that Gennady looked weaker than usual, maybe it had something to do with him being on the road and fighting in the U.K. But no fighter would intentionally make themselves look weaker before a fight or allow themselves to take unnecessary punishment just to lure someone into a fight.

What Triple G's last two performance have done though is to convince a lot of the fans that he is clearly past his prime. But what they never talk about is when Gennady's prime was. Was it just a few years back when he fought Lemieux? Was that Prime Golovkin? It's difficult to pinpoint because Triple G didn't turn professional until his mid-20s and his level of opposition while he was in 20s wasn't what it has been in recent years since he started fighting in America. If Gennady looked "Prime" just two short years ago in 2015 when he fought Murray, Monroe and Lemieux, and since then has looked vulnerable, then all this talk about how he's passed his prime has coincided directly with the slow buildup to this Canelo fight.

If Gennady has regressed since 2015, then that’s Gennady’s problem, not having anything to do with Canelo. In the event that Canelo wins, he beat the best version of Gennady Golovkin, we don’t want to hear any excuses. Saying stuff like Gennady’s decline was intentional or he needed to look bad against Brook and Jacobs to get Canelo to fight is laughable. You’re taking something that is a problem for Gennady and trying to spin it against Canelo in some way.

When I hear stuff like this, I can’t help but sense a lot of insecurities from Triple G fans.

 

So out of all those thousands of middleweights over the years you can't offer a list of names of fighters who were prime when they were 35 years old?

I didn't really mean that GGG pretended to be weak in the fight against Jacops in order to lure Canelo to decide to fight him like you said above. I just meant that everybody can have a bad day a bad night. That's it! I mean that it's very common for every athlete when you can't perform 100% everytime you fight. This can happen to anyone as long as you are a human.

 

Golovkin out boxed Jacobs in their fight, he knocked Jacobs down, later in the fight he staggered Jacobs with a power left jab at the end of the round, if not for that Jacobs would have been knocked out. Golovkin did not struggle with Jacobs at all, Jacobs ran, played defense, but got out jabbed even though he had the reach and was a cruiserweight, leaned how to cheat from SOB, refused to weigh-in, so one of the belts was not on the line. Jacobs should fight Charlo ASAP. When will Jacobs or Charlo ever fight again? Are they retired?

 

Flip side..... If GGG wins , Canelo is not too small, not enough power ect... ? I personally cannot pick the winner here. I still think this is one of the most evenly matched fights in the last 5 years. IMO I give an edge to GGG in power , accuracy and timing . Edge to Canelo in combos, tank and corner. Regardless of the outcome I think it will be a barnstormer of a fight and as long as its good I do not care who wins.
