Not his fault. Here's a list of people who blatantly ducked him:
    • Sergio Martinez
    • Miguel Cotto
    • Billie Hoe Saunders
    • Chris Screwbank Jr.
    • Felix Sturm
    • Carl Froch
    • Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    • Julio Chavez Jr.
    • Canelo Alvarez (2 years)

I think GGG is the massive favorite in this fight. If Canelo wins I give him a helluva lot of credit.. As good as Jacobs did taking it to GGG, he was also moving constantly. He didn't just stay at the ropes or take breaks. Canelo can slip punches and has solid defense, but GGG is so dangerous when you just stand stagnant and let him unleash a variety of punches. Only way I see Canelo winning is if his handspeed is just too fast for GGG and he continuously lands vicious counters. If Canelo can unleash counter combinations to the body consistently throughout the fight he might break GGG down eventually.

Counter punching doesn't come under 'skills'?

I'm also surprised you didn't include drawing power and favourable judging under Canelo's attributes as he has had plenty more of both.

Yeah I agree, I was refering to footspeed, Canelo has faster hands than GGG and throw really good combos, his upper body movement is also good, he slips a lot of punches, but thats what he bases his counterpuncher style, Golovkin, on the other hand, doesnt use it because he keeps the pressure, when someone lands a big shot on him he just keeps exchanging big shots. They are both great boxers, we will see a good match up. May the best man win

The reason why I don't think Canelo can win is because he doesn't use that much movement, and his footspeed isn't that fast. I know for a fact that in several points of this fight Canelo will go to the ropes. This will be his downfall imo. You can't let GGG have time to unleash a variety of punches on you while you stand still. He will break you down with power and precision. If Canelo can continuously counter and move it will be interesting!

He will need to improve a lot his stamina to do that, Canelo sometimes goes to the ropes to recover and take a breath, he did that many times vs Smith who brought pressure to him, he cant do that against GGG, cause he is very precise and hits like a truck, even if he block those punches he will get hurt. Canelo chances are keep moving on the center of the ring avoiding the ropes, throwing counters, working Golovkin body, and trying to neutralise GGG jabs wich is not easy, I mean, I dont give him many chances, IMO Golovkin is a clear favourite, even if he looks past his prime the day of the fight

Definitely one of Ellerbe's better posts ^ He's got it nailed here.

Canelo might be able to use his speed and glitz to hang with Golovkin for a while but he's had stamina issues before and I wonder if he's going to fight at an elevated rate for a long time. Frankly I think Jacobs > Canelo right now, and I think the GGG/Alvarez showdown will prove this.

I shall keep a hairy eyeball out for your predictions henceforth. The breakdown you did of the GGG / Canelo fight is pretty much exactly as I see it. I think that Canelo might surprise us with his durability though. IMHO his best hope is to stay busy and see the final bell and let the judges work their magic. The butthurt around here will be galactic if Golovkin gets robbed ;)

I have a prediction thread, go to my profile page and dig it up. It's pretty recent. I don't just make predictions and take credit for them, I make threads and subject myself to criticism if I get picks wrong. Luckily I've been right practically every time.

I'm curious to see how durable Canelo is against someone stronger and bigger than him. Besides Angulo which is even questionable I don't know if he's fought anyone physically stronger.
