I laughed out loud when I read the title of this thread.

Since only one boxer in the history of the Olympics was ever invited to light the Olympic torch, and the tens of thousands of other boxers who competed and won multiple gold medals and dozens of world titles in the history of the sport never did ...

I'm going out 'on a limb' and say NO.

And since the Summer Games aren't likely to be held in the U.S. again, I doubt many U.S. athletes will light the Olympic torch in the future.

I think Los Angeles is a finalist for the 2024 summer games.

The Olympic Committee that makes the final decisions despises the U.S. these days because the U.S. doesn't pay bribes like so many others jump at the chance to do. Don't hold your breath on LA getting it.

Only if the Olympics is held in Alabama in front of half empty arenas wherein only athletes outside the top ten are invited to compete. Then and only then would Wilder for the bill for lighting the torch.
