  I received a letter from a wrestling historian who tells me that Jersey Joe Walcott and Wrestler Lou Thesz had two matches-one in Tampa and one in Memphis.According to a interview with Thesz, the match in Memphis was a work(Fake)while the bout in Tampa was a legitimate match with Thesz winning.
• Duran,and Joey Maxim, both wrestled.

 

Walcott is supposed to have knocked out a wrestler named Cowboy Rocky Lee in 1956.

 

That's the guy who finished Joe Louis' wrestling career when he landed on him and bruised his heart muscles.

More famous boxer vs wrestler was Dempsey's fight with a fat guy.
Dempsey was around 45 at the time.

I read they had two fight's one fixed ,one straight I think this is the fixed one.Walcott ,who looks to be in similar shape to Johnson against Willard, makes no attempt to really hit Thesz.

 

That injury caused Louis trouble for the rest of his life. It may have contributed to his death as Louis died of a heart attack.

 

How old is Walcott here, he has that "well into middle age dad bod" thing going on. He was lean and chisled against Louis and Rocky.

 

There was some interest in Marciano vs Thez in 1955.
