Could Ward have Doubled Marciano over into a fetal position with a body shot?

Since he is thought to have done it to Kovalez, then he must be assumed to carry devastating power when targeting the body-correct?

Are you referring to the last low blow at the end of the fight?

I am referring to the CLAIM that he has the power to cause the bending over into a fetal position via a supposedly legal shot or a series of body legal shots and asking those making that claim whether they also believe he could have doubled Marciano over in that way via one or an accumulation of legal body shots as they claim he did Kovalev. Just trying to determine just how powerful they consider Ward to be in that body-shot area.

There`s no reason why a heavyweight could take a better shot to the body than a smaller man but I`m not sure I know they take shots better on the chin because of some strange glove science! Maybe bigger head or neck muscles stronger legs to absorb the blow I don`t what it is and I would like to know Rocky`s former neck measurements etc. compared to Kovalev but I feel Marciano`s amazing conditioning may allow him to absorb a body shot better or to recover quicker but I don`t know whether Kov or Rock had stronger more defined stomach muscles so maybe it`s not so black and white.

I chose Marciano as an example because when Marciano gained the HW crown he weighed 182 pounds. So that brings him more or less into the weight range at which Kov and Ward were fighting that night.

Strange as it might seem I have never observed any of Rocky's opponent's targeting his body. Maybe because they didn't want to risk temporarily lowering their guard in order to deliver a body shot? I mean. if Ward can double an opponent over in that way then I imagine that a far more muscular fighter like Walcott should have been able to do the same.

Yet, I never have seen any other fighter being doubled over into a fetal position in the way they claim that Kov was via body shots. I have seen them go down writhing in pain as Dela Joya did against Bernard though.

    BTW
Good question about how HWs are able to absorb the greater impacts. I had assumed that the are more firmly anchored to the ground and larger neck muscles. But that would be offset by the greater force. Like a Volkswagen not being able to topple an elephant but a sixteen wheeler being capable of it.

The right to the chin was powerful enough if you are doubting who would have one if he didn`t land those body shots that was a cracker!

The fight would have been over anyway.

No, my quandary is only in reference to whether his body shots are being deemed powerful enough to have done the same to Marciano.

I don't believe Rock drank between fights so he wouldn't be as soft around the mid section as Krusher was .

Neither do i believe he was weak to body shots. His torso was built like the truck of a tree.

And .... 182 is what he weighed in on fight day. Would he have been the same machine if he had to drain down to 175 and then go and fight for the title in that drained weakened state?

Kovalev broke down because he wasn't tough enough, which was Rocky's biggest asset.

Well, Rockey didn't need drain down to 175 since 180 and above was considered HW at that time. That's true about Marciano, he trained like a beast for every fight and fought all through it as if he was starting the first round. So one would assume his midsection was in condition.
