I happened to be in Vegas this week and I discovered by accident that the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame Induction ceremonies are taking place tomorrow night (Saturday).
    I attended a meet-and-greet today in Caesar's palace.

Altogether, I met and got photos with Pernell Whittaker, Tommy Hearns, Joel CasoMayer, Hasim Rahman, Jose Castillo, Michael Spinks, Leon Spinks, Barrera, Morales, Ray Mercer, Michael Carbajal, Jeremy Nichols, Kevin Kelly, Bermane Stiverne and Jeff Mayweather.

If any of you are in Vegas, there's a fair few big names there for the induction. I got to meet and chat with a few of them, all very fan-friendly and forthcoming with their time and opinions.

Tomorrow night will be a bigger event.

    Your av name was there.

I got a chance to chat for maybe five minutes.

He mentioned that GGG / Canelo would probably be a fight of the year.

And he was very dismissive of the Floyd / Connor debacle.

Rahman told me that Lennox hits harder than Wlad.

    And many other interesting titbits.

The highlight, humorous as it was, came when some young dude asked for my autograph. When I asked him why, he said he sort of recognized me as I was chatting with Tommy Hearns. He wondered if I might be Jake Lamotta or some such. He seemed disappointed (and somewhat embarrassed) to learn I was nobody....just a fan.

great thing. Did you talk to Thomas Hearns? How does he look? For years people said he slurred his speech. I never saw him as that bad to be honest. A little slur, but he dresses so sharp I think he is fine. Pernelll was there? That is great. Floyd and Connor? I wonder if Floyd has an agreement with Paulie to start all the stuff about sparring. Lennox right hand is probably harder, although I would thik Vlad is heavier handed in general.

Didn't notice any serious slurring with Tommy.

He joked around and sounded quite coherent. I think it was more his accent, or just the way he always talked.

Floyd wasn't there, nor Connor, but I had a chat with Jeff Mayweather. He confirmed that the bout was more of an event than a proper boxing match. He figures it will last 6 or 7 rounds.

    Nope.

I used to think he was a pretty decent ref, until that recent $hitshow of a stoppage.
