True but I think this was more to do with his change of style...which I beleive came after Sanders had mauled him into a panic attack freak. Vitali had to take him aside & make him get a grip ,so the new Vlad style appeared. Also its generally felt that as Heavyweights (in general) don't rely as much on movement there decline comes a bit later...GGG , Floyd, Manny ...the Peter Pans of boxing...

 

Few and far between
Big George got back in the ring at like 50 and got the HW belt. There again these are rare

 

i imagine he would have beat his time 7 years ago.

 

Still at 35 GGG has more than enough left to KD if not stop Canelo late in the game
If some how this goes to the bell and Canelo outboxes GGG for the W I will just give Big Red massive respect. I still expect GGG to finish Canelo between 9-11

he really wasnt, he just wasnt fighting above a subeurolevel and you didnt notice.

 

I think Carl Froch may have been at his best after 35. Mostly because of the wins over Bute, Kessler in rematch and Groves. He had a great career at world level esp during the super six.

 

That's why prime and peaking are 2 different things. Walcott, Hopkins, Maravilla, and Wlad were late bloomers who relied more on skill and experience once their reflexes started to slow. And they actually seemed to perform better than when they were younger or in their primes. They reached their peak late in their careers, latebloomers.

 

35 is over ten years ago in my rear view and I'm still in shape but boy it takes time to recover like a MOFO

i dont know, but lets examine it. i dont have a clue about the mans career 7 years ago, but obviously you know enough about him to know he wasnt posting those type of times when he was 28, else you wouldnt be telling me that he didnt. so fill me in on the difference in times he was clocking back then and we can examine possible reasons why hes doing better at 35.

 

If he set a personal or world record later, then that logically means he had not set it before.
