Galento was a highly feared puncher in his time. Deadly. Of course this has been forgotten over time. Frazier however is in a much more elite class of hwt and should prevail here via stoppage in 10 rounds. Galentos low crouch and swarming style keeps him in the fight as he pushes Joe backwards during most of the bout. Frazier is the one connecting more often and doing damage to Galentos features.

Galanto was active in the 1930's predominantly. A little before my time.

This could look like the Bonavena fights except Galento ain't going the distance against Frazier body punching and crisp shots

If you like this matchup.....you'll love the Johnny Paycheck vs prime Lennox Lewis thread!

I pick Lewis to pull out a closely contested split decision with a rematch immediately demanded!

Frazier should tear through him with better speed, Boxing IQ and overall class, but he needs to look out for that power.

    He always has been.

He was a limited fighter, but his power was the real deal.

People who "really know boxing and understand what they are watching, " knew this.
Of course the amateur posters , which constitute the majority of us, can't be expected to understand the subtle nuances that Galento brought to the table. The real pro's amongst us those that have been," around ,"and, "involved within the sport",do the rest of us a valuable service by explaining all the intricacies and mysterious tricks of the trade that us mere amateur fans would otherwise miss.
We are indebted to them and grateful they graciously find the time to educate and inform us.
