Could Ward have Doubled Marciano over into a fetal position with a body shot?

The difference is Marciano in an unlimited division where he trained relentlessly to make his body hard as steel getting caught on the sweet spot of the chin is different....Marciano body was about as hard as they come....he was built and fit to handle whatever the bigger more talented fighters could dish out let alone a light hitting fighter like Ward

184.5 pounds. That's trained down finely. Marcianos walking around weight was around 200.

I think if Rocky fought Ward with Weekes as referee Rocky would have been DQ'd Had Ward thrown his low punches at Rocky & & Weekes ignored it like he did Rocky would have returned the favour himself & Weekes would have DQ'd him
Sergey realized this & didn't fall for it

Nobody calls a small hw a lhw. You call a small hw a small hw and a lhw a lhw. My guess is that's clear for pretty much everybody on here.

He isn't being touted as a light hitter by his fans who say he had Kov in trouble with shots both to the head and body. Neither did he look like a light hitter during that last fight.

True! I should have assumed that's what you meant.

That's how I remember it but should have checked.

    Thanks for pointing it out.

    It was 184 pounds vs Wallcott's 195.

    BTW
What possible agenda do you imagine I would have for purposefully and maliciously making things up via shaving two pounds off Marciano's weight?

It's precisely because I have come across his fans touting him as a strong puncher during that Kov fight on this website that posted the thread.
Then you need to re-read the Kov vs Ward threads where they boast on how devastating War's punches were to both Kov's body and head during that last fight.

My thread is asking those who made those pro-Ward sensationalist claims, as you call them, whether they consider him to have been capable of doubling Marciano over with body shots preceded by some head shots as they claim he did Kov.

The issue is not that Ward is that great if a hitter....he is not. The issue is that Kovalev, an untested fighter since he was never in a truly tough fight, when tested showed himself to lack durability and will to win.

Ward punches hard enough ... he worked Koslov down with a sustained body attack and superior conditioning .. I sincerely doubt he has any shot at wearing Marciano down. The Chartles, Walcott and Moore Rocky beat up while past their best were all very tough, brought the best of the game they had left into the ring with him when they fought him and were all at the very least as tough as Ward ..
