I don't think the fight will be as easy as for Mayweather is some people think. Mcgregor is going to try his best to rough Floyd up and tire him out. He will be much stronger than Mayweather and is used to grappling, I think it's going to be a messy fight tbh.

I came on here to see what everyone's reaction to the paulie sparring clips were.

Afraid Conor may pull this off? In the clips he was tagging paulie and he did knock him down.

That's just wrong, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Elerbe saying Floyd will be more aggressive in this fight and look for the knockout. Taking Mcgregor lightly if that's the case. A lot of McGregor's knockouts seem to have come from counter punches because he controls distance very well, especially when his opponent is moving towards him. If I was Floyd I'd be fighting this fight the exact same way he's fought for most of his career, defensively.

If Floyd can pull this off, it will be a masterful performance.

It would be one for the record books. He has never fought a guy like this professionally before.

As Mayweather himself said, McGregor is bigger than him and he's a southpaw with reach and power. Mayweather is a genius and I really hope that he can pick this guy apart.

I will be honest and say that if Mayweather does pick him apart, it will be easily one of his best wins, even if he doesn't pick him apart, but still wins.

I really do hope to see Mayweather put on a showcase performance, but I actually have genuine doubts this time. If Mayweather can hurt him, he wins by KO probably. That's the one thing I'm worried about with Mayweather is if he can hurt McGregor.

If he can hurt him, he should win.

I think if McGregor gives up his reach and allows Floyd an opening, that Floyd should take it because Floyd can land the shorter punch and he can land it faster, but he just has to ensure that Floyd's counter doesn't get countered at the same time because that could lead to a KO.

I feel like McGregor might use a high volume, high movement strategy, similar to what I imagine Harry Greb must have used according to reports. Calzaghe used something similar too, albeit in my opinion, more sloppy than McGregor's punching technique.

McGregor will be throwing almost non stop punches at various speeds and angles and make Floyd reactive, and hope to put something on the end of one his punches when he has a clear shot, especially as Floyd is throwing.

McGregor wants to do it early, so he will come at Floyd, probably with a fake kick at first and see how Floyd reacts, and then use various angles and non stop punching. It's really a terrible style for Floyd at his age, which is going to make it incredibly hard for him to get past this unless he can hurt McGregor badly enough to put him on his ass.

If Mayweather can hurt McGregor and do it without getting hit in return, he can catch McGregor coming on the way in, but he has to be very careful because McGregor is crafty with his footwork and might catch Mayweather throwing a punch at the wrong time. Maybe a Mayweather body attack will also come into play.

I don't know what we'll see, but it's not an easy fight. I don't know how people can think this. This could honestly prove to be Mayweather's biggest challenge.

Am I to understand that the sparring clip was from round 11? If this is true then McGregor looked very quick and fresh, almost as though it were round 1.

Conor has never been around top level boxing knowledge. It's like a worst case of Kelly Pavlik and his childhood trainer who severly limited his career

BUT conor has size and age on his side

Not in the least. The only thing I am afraid of it that that reprobate who posted about McClellan above could be right, and this MMA guy could get badly hurt.

What I believe is that based on training videos, unless I'm proven to be completely wrong, that McGregor just happens to be the best boxer in MMA by a wide margin. McGregor is basically what would happen if you sent a guy with the boxing potential of some of the key superstars in boxing to an MMA gym and then developed other parts in their game necessary for MMA.

McGregor's skill level, based on training and his fights in MMA indicate a very talented athlete that has good footwork, sharp punches, and movement. He looks like what you would expect from an elite boxer.

That's what I'm trying to tell people that this guy is using his most useful and deadly martial art, and the one he's most proficient at in the boxing ring, but also taking tactics like wrestling, and others that were learned from his martial arts background, and are able to be utilized in the ring to gain a competitive advantage.

I never know what Mayweather is going to do, so I won't even try to get into his strategy, as I hope he surprises me with a masterpiece.

I have put together what I believe McGregor's strategy will be. Movement, non-stop punching, angles, and power when he sees a shot. He will also look to counter Mayweather's counter with his own counter.

This is the most difficult opponent of Mayweather's career based on what I've seen, so everybody has to give Mayweather serious props if he can beat this guy.

Seriously, I hate MMA/UFC as much as the next hardcore boxing fan, but I would never wish that on anybody.

You really think that guy with no experience in professional boxing is the most difficult opponent in Floyds career? I don't think so. If Floyd is even close to his former self he should not have much difficulties with Conor.

This guy is not just a normal guy. I'm telling you. This guy is gangster. Anybody that fights one of the Diaz brothers is gangster because the Diaz brothers will honestly whip your ass at some point, even if it takes them 3 days to do it. If Diaz was given one more round in the McGregor 2 fight, Diaz would have stopped McGregor again. Diaz is one of those guys you regret picking a fight with.

McGregor uses strikes and timing to knock people out in MMA. His records speaks for itself. He's essentially the Floyd Mayweather of MMA. He's 29 and about to make $100M. He has tremendous incentive to knock Floyd out.

He will bring everything to this fight and just as Floyd is such a talented athlete, that you could teach him MMA and he would be successful based on his unique athleticism and ability to time his opponents both defensively and offensively, and he would have tremendous success. Imagine Mayweather fighting at the lower weight classes in MMA with his 72 inch reach, power, and overall athleticism.

You can't really teach the eye of the fighter. Mayweather just has that eye. McGregor has the eye too. I'm telling you, McGregor knows timing and striking. You think Mayweather wouldn't be able to time his kicks as well as his punches if he learned proper kicking technique?

Mayweather is a master of timing. So is McGregor. These are two masters of timing in the ring. So yes, you have to give him respect at his boxing. Look at his technique and his speed and movement. Look at what he did to Malinaggi.

This guy is doing this for real. Mayweather has a very hard opponent in front of him. I think this could be his hardest fight, so I really look forward to a masterful performance by Mayweather, but I will not be shocked if McGregor wins. Against anyone else, but Mayweather, McGregor would be favored to win, if he had been competing full time in boxing instead of MMA.
