I only ask this because someone commented on Eubanks bout vs Rochigiani saying Chris was better at opening up a high guard than Roy Jones!
Not quite sure what this is mate? Anyway, Winky Wright was a smaller guy I think. He made his name against a blown up, past it 'Sugar' Shane Mosley.
It was to decide who was better and fighting a high guard Jones or Eubank because someone said Jones had more trouble with Mlinga! Winky was a far better fighter than Eubank as was the version of Mosley that he fought the only reason I bothered with this question is because Eubank would be stronger at middleweight! Eubank was overrated.
Of course, why not?? Willy Wonka has serious skills and abilities that would cause big problems for Eubank. Not to mention the fight would make financial sense considering the numbers it would draw. The tickets would be so difficult to obtain, they will be sold out within minutes to only those who are fortunate enough to be first in line. Everyone knows Wonka is a top top man.
Are you trying to say the more famous a fighter is the better he is?! So Eubank was more skilled than Pernell Whitaker?! No British TV channel would by De La Hoya v Whitaker in 96. Yet both fighters were miles better than Eubank! I think De La Hoya could even of beaten Eubank at middle! Chris was no Bernard Hopkins! How do you rate Eubank compared to the all time greats?! Top 10?! Top 20?! Top 100 etc.?! Winky would give any light middle in history where Eubank wouldn`t have laid a glove on any top 10 middle in terms of greatest of all-time, Robinson, Monzon etc would have played with Chris!
How could anyone say Jones had more trouble with Malinga????? Eubank won a narrow SD over him and Jones KO'd him in six after playing with him, priceless. As for his threak Euban would KO wright by mid rounds. Winky was no real MW.
Eubank dropped Malinga sooner and heavier than Jones and Malinga hadn't laid a glove on Eubank at that point. He was saved by the bell then Eubank just stopped and strutted and ran and showboated as was his norm. He'd win six rounds of a defense and stop! I guess he'd be saving himself for his next defence which was always lined up soon after. For the record, I think Malinga was done by the time he fought Jones - the head shots he took against Eubank and the body shots he took against Benn took so much out of him. He looked to have lost against Trevor Ambrose and looked **** against Nardiello. Much like Benn was done post-McClellan.
I was replying to someone who felt Eubank dealt with Malinga`s high guard better than Jones and the best opponent who would have been able to fight CE or RJ was Winky because he fought at middle against someone brilliant even though he lost I couldn`t think of anyone who could use the high guard at their weights to test this guys theory, I was just pissed off and wondered if people agreed with him because I think Eubank was overrated.
The mind games Wonka would bring to the table as well as his financial backing make this fight very very interesting !
