Absolutely. I don't understand why people in this community are so complacent. I think people don't understand what to look for when it comes to boxing skills.

All I had to do was take one look at McGregor's footwork and his punching technique during his open workout and then see the footage of him with Malinaggi and I realized that he has skills.

If you don't see that, you probably just don't know what to look for. In fact, based off that footage alone, I was able to figure out his strategy, which is what I mentioned above.

It's a smart strategy. (I also heard McGregor speak about it too) It keeps Mayweather reactive. Mayweather will have to react to what McGregor does. That's the way to beat an old fighter is by not giving them time to think.

McGregor will use Calzaghe's style, but perhaps more efficiently and better than Calzaghe ever did because I think McGregor may have better footwork and more angles.

Plus, I have no qualms about saying McGregor is better in the clinch than Calzaghe and surely will dominate Mayweather in the clinch. He's an MMA fighter after all.

I guess some people will be shook. That's not really my problem.

Yes but could Marciano have beaten a 0-0-0 boxer after he retired? Huh?

It would have been his most dangerous fight! I'm tellin' ya.

C'mon, TJ. Admit that you are trolling ( and doing a pretty good job at it I might add).

JFC. Now McGregor is better than Calzaghe too :duh

Your trolling is too obvious to be effective.

I thought the same way you did until I saw that picture of McGregor with his hands behind his back and heard Malinaggi talking about angles and things of that nature that most boxers are not used to seeing.

At that moment, I knew Malinaggi got his ass whupped.

Then I watched more videos of McGregor training and I was shocked at his speed and movement because I had no idea that he had any speed and movement. Then I watched the Diaz fights, and I gained some respect for McGregor because I realized that some of the defensive lapses he was having against Van Heerden were due to not adjusting to the boxing game. He would situate himself in ways where you anticipate kicks coming back, instead of punches, which of course left him open to punches.

Then after I saw the way Malinaggi looked in those released photos of him being knocked down, combined with the photos of him getting his ass beat, I knew this wasn't a game anymore. I also knew Malinaggi was knocked down before I saw the video.

And given McGregor's confidence, he has one of the best shots to beat Mayweather. I'll put it like this, if Mayweather realized the things that I know now, he would have never fought him.

Now, Mayweather could surely win, but this will be his hardest fight given that he's 40 years old and the match up in front of him.

For everyone who ever wanted to see Mayweather get knocked out, this is probably your last chance. Mayweather was blindsided by this fight.

    We all were.

His angles are better than what Calzaghe offered. I don't know if that translates him into being overall better, but boxing is all about angles, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I really can't wait for this whole stupid event to be over with so we can look forward to and spend time discussing proper fights.

McGregor could be 3 stone heavier than Floyd and six foot tall, it simply doesn't matter though because he doesn't have the boxing skills to trouble Mayweather. This is such an easy fight for Floyd it's untrue. It shouldn't even be allowed to register as an actual win on his record it's that easy. These people who are giving McGregor more than a punchers chance (he does at least have that) and think he could actually trouble and get the upper hand in this exhibition are utterly deluded. Sorry, but it's true.

Do you think P4P Calzaghe was better than Mayweather?

The thing is, unlike Pac for instance who still had to be cautious, McGregor not only has weight and durability on his side, he also has 2 inches of greater reach will allow him to throw more punches because there is a greater possibility of him landing first without having to expose himself as much as Pacquaio did.

If you watch McGregor in UFC, you'll notice that one thing he does well is optimize distance. He is excellent at controlling distance. It's going to be a hard fight. I'm telling you guys.

No, but I think Calzaghe would beat Mayweather head to head. McGregor is just as big as Calzaghe. Of course McGregor doens't have the boxing experience Calzaghe has, but he has more power and I think he makes better use of angles, plus he will be more effective in a clinch situation.

I'm really impressed with McGregor's footwork. It's something that Floyd has never seen before in the pro boxing ring.
