Watched it again and scored it 115-112 for Calzaghe, 116-111 or 114-113 are also fair. Anything beyond that is being WAY too generous for Hopkins, as you'd have to start gifting clear Calzaghe rounds to him. Still fail to see why so many claim this was a robbery, when it was it a decisive Calzaghe win... Hopkins slow down and spoiling tactics backfired and he was just simply outworked. There really isn't much more to it than that.
You can't win a fight clinching 20-30 times a round and only landing a handful of punches while being consistently outworked. The shenanigans in the 10th and 11th were beyond disgraceful and Ruiz -esque(as was Hopkins performance in general that night) unfortunately for him his tactics backfired and Calzaghe psychologically broke him(which explains the BS in rounds 10-11) laugh at his slapping and sometimes sloppy punches all you want, but he outworked and decisively beat an ATG in his own backyard while almost everyone doubted him.
ROFLMAO How many Legitimate scoring punches did Slappy throw?? Not many most were schoolgirl like slops B Hop won that fight but got shafted AGAIN
OK Answer this....... Fighter A throws 30 scoring punches in a round Fighter B throws 50 illegal slaps & 10 scoring punches Who wins the round ??????
Not trying to twist anything just intrigued as to how a boxier who cannot throw a legitimate scoring punch wins a fight // BTW You didnt answer my question
There's no need to answer your loaded BS question. Don't like Calzaghes punches? Too bad! He outworked Hopkins clearly. Nothing illegal about shoe shining or light punches.
Hitting with the inside of the glove, used to be called lacing is ILLEGAL !!!! Slapping is ILLEGAL!!! Only punches delivered with the Knuckle part of the glove are legal & therefore score Read up on the rules of boxing man it helps You lost this argement
Even if this was done.. Hopkins constantly clinching, hitting him when his back was turned, and the faking of low blows would negate some punches that were questionable. Calzaghe won soundly man, get over it! Maybe when the decade anniversary has been reached you'll finally be over it? I sure hope so!
Hopkins dropped Calzaghe in the first round and got his azz slapped silly for the next 11. I haven't watched it for a while because it was an ugly fight. But don't have to because I know calzaghe won. The mood of the fight was that BHop has to cheat rest by faking low blow and got dry hump by the Dragon.
