I've said it before and I'll say it again. . . Fighters trash talked Bruno before every fight, they were going to do this and that blah blah blah. In the first minute of the fight they got on the end of that piledriver jab of Bruno's and suddenly grew a whole new level of respect for him. He outboxed Lewis for 7rds, Witherspoon for 11rds & he was the first Challenger to seriously hurt the best version of Mike Tyson. His only losses were to Heavyweight World Champions like Lewis, Tyson, Smith and Witherspoon. Yes he had his faults, he was stiff and lacked stamina beyond round 9 or 10 but he was very tight defensively and every punch he threw was heavy handed and carried to potential to damage or KO his opponent. IMO he outboxes Wilder, walks him down and lands too many power shots on him for Wilder to survive the first 5rds.
Great fight big punchers questionable chins!.I favor Frank working behind his jab which was a real weapon but if wilder lands a big shot first it could be jumbo Cummings time!
Bruno would destroy him, out jabbing, out working and generally outboxing, and then turn to Harry Carpenter and say "know what I mean arry ? . I told you he was s**t"
Bruno had a habit of freezing up when he got hit. I think Wilder could hit him with a big right hand, then finish him.
Bruno KO's Wilder inside 8 rounds. Wilder was out boxed by Washington, no chance he deals with Bruno's ramrod jab when he couldn't deal with Washington's. Sure Wilder has a punchers chance but that's true with almost anyone and unlike Washington, Bruno has more than enough power to KO Wilder too.
Amazes me that most favor Bruno over Wilder. Wilder is the better athlete of the two, way looser, much better stamina and thus far has prove to be a way better game day performer. I think Bruno would be winning the fight early like against Lewis but around the 6-8 round would get hurt and finished by Wilder.
