No fighter can be at his best at 35 and over. It's biologically impossible.

The age of which you gained your greatest wins doesn't = prime. That's a huge error most on here have floating around in their broken brain lobes

If results in fights doesn't matter, how do you judge it then? And how do keep it from being even more subjective then it already is?

if you train hard at 35 you can maintain fittness to the same extent as when you were 25
in boxing wear and tear on the chin will be a factor

in the elite like mayweather being 35 is no hinderence
but it really is only elite fighters who could pull off the maintenence of form

experience will also play a roll in keeping fighters at the top

physcially it takes a lot more out of you training recovery wise and stiffness wise the next morning and injuries take longer to heal

father time is catching up with you but it is not impossible to remain near or at your best at 35 in the sport of boxing.

as an add on it would depend ofn what style of fighter you are / face first brawlers i would not include in this catergory no matter how good.

Would it be unfair to have a metal plate in your hand? ;)

Mayweather was religiously taking care of his body and take minimal punishment. Somebody like Hatton etc. Take more punishment and didn't take care of their body.

i say, taking care of yourself is what matters 100% and nothing else.

if you are injury free and take care of your body.you can be in your prime close to 40. Your physical skills have dimished little bit of course.but the gains in skills could make it up.

recent example is Bolt. Says he is too old. But Gatlin is 4yrs older. But Bolt doesn't take care of his body religiously.

It's easy to lay down a little bit. But best thing you can do yourself is to take care of your body 365 days a year. Use even 1hour to yourself. Too many lazy comfort seeking *******s. Who are not actually seeking comfort.

linford christie also reached his peak late / i agree the hattons of the boxing world never going to have longevity.

as you get older you need less training / more recovery although i cannot remember at what age this kicks in and in my case it was football not boxing,

if you are well paid and elite boxers are very well paid the there is no excuse at all for getting anywhere near out of shape

tyson fury at 28 is a disgrace to himself / why would you allow yourself to get fat when your a sportsman.

james toney ate himself out of every division

hopkins an example of what you can do if you maintain fitness and weight

I don“t think even the elite fighters like May or Jones jr. were at their prime at the age of 35, but then again, if you are an elite fighter, you might be able to compete at the top level at 35. Sergio might be the exception of the rule - he got his peak very late. Golovkin on the other hand, has had a long prime and just the fact that he is still considered p4p top 3 at the age of 35 proves how good he truly is.

How well you manage at 35 depends more on the style than physical attributes. Fighting safety first and defensively is much less prone for physical declining ( where as fighting with offensive style wont carry you after your reflexes, legs and speed decline (a la Jones jr., Mosley, Haye etc.).

You really just said there should be a "better win" than canelo ? Kid, that canelo was a ****ing beast and not many ww could had ever beat a 22 year old 40 and zero elite level talented canelo.

This stupid claim proves you're nothing more than a hater and troll. Name a single win better than canelo ??? I'll laugh if you claim mab or morales. The second best in Pac had no win even close to canelo, and that's the second greatest fighter of that era
