Well i am not one of those guys. I am in awe of Loma and Usyk. Golovkin has had an amazing run and i picked Postol over Crawford.
I'm pm'ing you footage of Beterbiev vs Usyk. You'll easily see that Beterbiev has a world-class inside game. He does have some defensive lapses though.
I wonder why he hasn't shown any of it in the pro ranks. Is it the inactivity? And he looked a lot lighter on his feet.
At this stage his career is a bust, a KO waiting to happen. Ward, Kovalev, Gvozdyk, Stevenson all whoop him. Id even favor up and comers like Bivol and Yarde over him. The guy is just too reckless with no jab and zero defense to speak of.
Beterbiev IS slow on his feet, and he DOES have bad defense. I really don't see anything special in Beterbiev. He's lucky he hasn't fought a puncher in the pros yet, or he'd be on the canvas.
@Badbot It's the first fight here - Beterbiev beat Usyk up and won this fight but got robbed. I've seen this fight about 3 or 4 times, have Beterbiev winning every time: This content is protected Edit: He has actually become more of a mauler now. The bodyshot Beterbiev landed wasn't actually low as wrongly stated by ref. Usyk was in pain and needed a standing 8 count.
You used to call Abdusalamov a "mongoloid" when he fought you piece of trash! Now you are compliment him to disguise the sheer insanity of one of your dumb remarks that someone exposed to this board and will continue to do so.
First time I saw Beterbiev was at the 2012 olympics where he got a gift against Michael Hunter who Usyk clearly beat in the pros. No way Beterbiev beats Usyk in the pro ranks. This content is protected
Yeah I think Michael Hunter beat Beterbiev, too. I think Beterbiev had an off night, he looked awful. If they had pro gloves on at least that night in 2012, Beterbiev would've KO'd Usyk. I sound biased with my avatar but hey..I'm a big fan of Usyk.
But he DOES have inside game, and that was the point. That is some stereotype that is pushed by Virgil Hunter and his minions that EE fighters lack inside game.
Beat Kovalev albeit razor-close Beat Gvozdyk stopping him on an injury (broken nose) Beat Usyk and Lost 2 close and highly competitive decisions to him (both of which up at HW ie. not Beterbiev's natural division or the one where he was remotely as close to being as formidable or as successful at as he was down at LHW). And he hurt the naturally bigger Usyk in one of those fights too (body shot), which is the only time I've ever seen Usyk hurt. Usyk went on to win the gold in both of those tournaments after beating Beterbiev, at the 2011 world amateur championships and the 2012 Olympics respectfully. Usyk on Beterbiev Q: Oleksandr, you won most everything as an amateur, including the gold at the 2012 Olympics. Who would you say gave you your hardest fight as an amateur? Oleksandr Usyk: “Well, all those fights, they all took place within the last couple of years or so, so it’s hard to say. Maybe, if I was pushed to say, it was Artur Beterbiev of Russia who gave me my roughest fight. He is very aggressive and he does hit very hard.” Gvozdyk on Beterbiev This content is protected And that's just those 3 fighters that have been mentioned in this thread.
Gvozdyk has been getting a ton of love on here of late Out of Kovalev, Beterbiev and Gvozdyk, who do you think is the best?
