Mayweather/McGregor Fight Discussion

This will give McGregor fans more hope and therefore be more likely to buy the fight and this will naturally benefit Mayweather financially. Whatever the size of the gloves he still has to land clean.

 

Connor could fight with no gloves and not land. Wheres Mayweather will land and hurt him.

 

This fight has a certain predictability regarding the tactics both fighters will try to employ.Conor is going to come after Floyd at a furious pace and it will cause Floyd to run like he's never ran before. And we all know Conor has excellent conditioning so he will not get tired. Conor is going to rough Mayweather up early and often. Floyd had better hope his legs and timing have not eroded to a dangerous level, because it will be a real fight. Can Floyd devise a plan to overcome these challenges? It's probable,but it no way is it a certainty.

I don't think Mayweather is going to run. I think he is going to fight McGregor in the pocket like he fought Alvarez. Mayweather is not going to respect McGregor until McGregor shows him something. I expect a Gatti-like beating to be applied to McGregor. Mayweather is no sissy in close quarters and he will give it to McGregor just as good as he gets it. The fact that Mayweather agreed to 8 ounce gloves shows that he doesn't think much of McGregor.

 

If Floyd decides to stay in close he will be thrown around and manipulated like a rag doll.

 

This is boxing bro, not a wrestling match and the referee will enforce the rules of boxing.

 

So Mcregor is a better boxer than Canelo, Oscar, Mosley and Cotto who were all bigger than Floyd yet couldn't do what Conor is supposedly about to do?

 

I really don't know the answer to this question, but it's not just about who's better. It's about other things, like size, style, stance, etc. Margarito (prime) is not better than those guys you mentioned; however, he would have a greater probability of beating Mayweather than all of those in my opinion.

 

And a willingness to take chances in order to be destructive.

 

Agreed. Conor is in a sweeeet spot here. Nothing to lose everything to gain and he's getting booku bucks on top of it.
