Mayweather has fought opponents using 8 ounce gloves before so it isn't anything new.

Mayweather picked McGregor because there was a fan demand for the fight and he knew he could easily defeat him. This will be one of Floyd's easiset bouts. He also knew that MMA fans are uninformed and gullible enough to pay to see this obvious mismatch.

Very well, since you feel so confident, you can do a permanent ban bet with me?

Let's see if you really believe in the garbage you've been spouting throughout this thread!

If floyd wants em he must be very confident of ****ing connor up.floyd don't take unnecessary risks and it Wernt a stipulation of the fight so he's already got his money witch makes Floyd talk of going for ko not him just blowing smoke.

I've said all along that I can see a someone's pale Irish skin being swollen and bloodied big time forcing the ref to step in at around 5-7. This gives me even more confidence in that prediction.

It's far easier for an MMA fighter (especially a puncher) to transition to boxing than it is for a boxer to transition to MMA. This is because a boxer would have to learn new techniques, like defending takedowns and defending submissions, to compete in MMA, which are completely foreign techniques to a boxer, while an MMA fighter wouldn't have to learn any new techniques to compete in boxing. It would just be refining a technique (punching) that they already knew and utilize in MMA.

You're boxing pride is really kicking in. This is a fight between two fighters. If Conor wins or goes the distance, it doesn't mean boxing is dead. If that happened, Conor would just have proven himself in boxing and would have more boxers calling him out for future boxing matches.

We all know that the average boxer would beat the average MMA fighter in boxing and vice versa. Conor has put MMA to the side and has been training for boxing exclusively for a long time in preparation for this match. Conor is also not your typical average MMA fighter, he's got arguably the fastest hands in MMA. Conor is a special athlete so regardless of what happens, it doesn’t prove that any MMA fighter can just come into boxing and beat top level boxers.

If Conor wins, then UFC fans will celebrate and most will probably brag that MMA is better than boxing, but remember this is just between two fighters. This doesn’t determine what’s better : Boxing or MMA. This determines who’s better Conor or Floyd. Boxing is the fairer way to determine who is better between a Boxer and an MMA fighter (who is known as a puncher) than an MMA match. Boxers are at a much bigger disadvantage to compete under MMA rules than MMA fighters (especially punchers) are in boxing. Just look at James Toney vs Randy Couture. That was a freakin joke. This is a real boxing match, and in a boxing match anyone who can punch has a puncher’s chance of winning.

That can’t be said in a UFC fight, if you do not know how to defend a takedown or defend a submission, you will lose every time. So it’s two completely different things.

My 50 years in boxing and the past 10 years trying to get former MMA fighters to be able to box proves you wrong. If they are truly good at MMA, they usually are not able to make the transition to boxing. If they suck at MMA. They usually suck at boxing too.
