Wladimir Klitschko names his top-5 P4P fighters of all time

GGG is one of the most honest sportsman, active today.

There is not an ounce of corruption in any bone in his body. All of his business is done inside the ring.

 

I think Brits tend to massively overrate him but among my fellow North Americans he actually tends to get underrated. Have you caught the Veit I-II and Mitchell fights btw? Great offensive performances where his natural power really shines. I think that Calzaghe would have had a shot at KO'ing Lacy, Hopkins(outside chance) and Jones tbh.

 

H2H I was really going with. But resume wise... The 'Bum Of The Month Club' v.s Wladimir's reign... I'm going with Wlad. Add in the Olympic Gold Medal too don't forget. But Louis was a very good fighter no doubt. And resume wise he did have Marciano beat there. But NOT H2H in my opinion.

I can see where you'd say Louis v.s Rocky is the equivalent of Wlad v.s Joshua. But the fights themselves... Lol no contest. Wlad made a way better account of himself.

 

Lewis and Vitali were both absolute animals. Can't deny that. And both would beat the **** out of Ali in a hypothetical matchup.

 

Well ATG lists usually are judged by what said fighter did in their era, not how they match up with fighters past or present. H2H? That's something entirely different. I think Vitali Klitschko is a top 5 H2H HW of all time, but accomplishment wise he probably doesn't even have a good case for cracking the top 20.

ATG rankings are subjective. I think this was his head to head rankings, not all time rankings

 

I actually think prime Wlad is a top 5 H2H guy. Call me crazy. And his big brother is top 3! Both at their best would be trouble for any heavyweight in history. Also.. I don't like the guy... but Lewis is definitely in that top 5 somewhere too. VERY dangerous fighter at his best.

 

I've seen his fights against RJJ, B-Hop, Kessler, Lacy, Eubank, Bika and Reid. I'll check out the Veit fights as well.

 

Must be tough on the wyte supremacists here like Todd, that Wladdie picked three out of four non-wytes as his top four.

 

"Old Louis" is overstated, and popularized by Eddie Murphy.
Of course Louis was at the tail end of his career, but he had been on a tear. A 10 win streak. And was still a very very good fighter.

 

It's a great list.
Why can't people have a non conventional list?
Why can't we appreciate and try to understand his perspective, rather than act like we know better?
It's not like the guy spent a decade ruling the ring in the toughest division of the sport, no siree.

 

he was good, and down to sheer boxing nous he was world class though the flesh was becoming substnatially weaker than that. He was no longer elite, clearly.

 

Cool that Wlad shared. Glad he could trigger so many people concerned with historical P4P like superhero rankings.
