Canelo is actually a stylistic threat to Golovkin. Canelo is not that bad with handling the jab. It depends on the type of jab. Lara and Mayweather execute the jab differently to Golovkin. So does Trout for that matter, they will jab and get completely out of punching range, utilising speed and athleticism - a headache for Canelo's style.
Golovkin also is only effective when pressing the action. He's entering Canelo's territory. Outside of this momentum, he has the flaw all too common in the Eastern European style of boxing - they lose points when you dish it back.

Golovkin can't be underestimated since he's the favourite and a genuinely great fighter, but I'm still rolling with Canelo 65-35.

Yeah I mean Canelo beat 2 of the 3 guys you listed there and gave the other who was the P4P king in boxing at the time a majority decision. Canelo turned Trout into bambi on Ice.

If those guys were such a stylistic nightmare for Canelo than surely they would have beat Canelo convincingly which they didn't. Khan has a good jab and look what happened to him.

You can't compare Mayweather, Lara, and Trout's jab to Triple G's. Lara has a 74" reach, Floyd and Trout have a 72" reach. Triple G has a 70" reach. He's not rangey like those guys you mentioned so saying they are equal in the jab department makes no sense.

Triple G may have more power on his jab than those guys, though I think Floyd’s jab was plenty powerful when he fought Canelo, but Triple G is not going to be able to land the jab as often as those guys landed their jab. Triple G has short arms, and unlike those guys who had the range to outbox Canelo, Triple G’s got to get within punching range of Canelo to land it.

I think Triple G is going to have a difficult time landing on Canelo because he’s not used to such a small target. Even if he does manage to land some solid jabs on Canelo, which is a big IF, Canelo has proven he has an incredible chin, so I don’t see how Triple G can hurt Canelo from a jab alone. Now if Triple G can use the jab to set up the right hand, then maybe you could catch Canelo, but again it’s going to take a perfect timing to land a major punch on Canelo. He’s well trained at slipping punches, parrying punches, and using head movement to take power off opponent’s punches, it’s something that Triple G has never experienced thus far in his career.

Loma looked great in the last 6 against Salido.:deal: He had to learn on the job, and after 6 rounds he became fairly proficient in it. Thankfully for both of them, they don't have to be, no one can get past GGG's jab standing in front of him and most haven't attempted actually walking him down, I don't see how you think Canelo, who isn't this come forward destroyer will have much success in that department, Canelo is perfect for GGG, he isn't as fleet footed as Jacobs or Brook, tends to stay on the ropes way longer than he should, and can become apprehensive when in with decent puncher like Cotto of all people,, GGG will jab him into the corner, Canelo will shell up, GGG will tee off until he does enough damage to prompt a corner stoppage.

Mayweather basically shut him out, at best Canelo won 3 rounds, I scored the Trout match for Austin and the Lara match a draw, that one could have went either way. What happened to Khan is what Khan was brought in for, he got KTFO, the fact that he lasted 6 rounds and outboxed Canelo in 5 of them should be an indication to you that Canelo isn't as good as you think he is, do you really think Khan would make it out of the 1st or 2nd round against GGG?

GGG's jab is better than you're giving it credit for, the power in it makes up for whatever it may be lacking, Canelo won't be as willing to let his hands go, like what happened with Mayweather, GGG is well trained at slipping punches, parrying punches, and using head movement to take power off opponent’s punches too, it’s something that Triple G has used to his own advantage against and experienced in the ring against Jacobs, who is a better pure boxer than Canelo.

we really do not know what is going to happen. The advantage is for GGG with his power and confort at the weight. That is always an edge.

Khan won some of those early rounds, maybe 3 or 4 of those first 5 rounds. It took a couple of rounds for Canelo to get Khan's timing down, but when Canelo figured it out and Khan startd to tire he timed him and it was all she wrote. Khan has a 71" reach and combined with his foot and hand speed he can land that jab pretty regularly.

I'm not underselling Triple G's jab, it's solid and definitely a weapon, but I don't see how it's equal to Lara, Trouts or Mayweather's jab. He throws it with more conviction than Lara or Trout though for sure, but he can't land it from the outside like those guys. I think it's a good stylistic matchup though because both guys don't fight from the outside, neither Canelo or Triple G really like to take a step back like Lara, Trout, Mayweather, Jacobs, etc. It makes for a highly skilled war. Triple G may be trained at slipping punches and what not, he may be a B+ at that, but Canelo is an A and there's a big difference in skill when it comes to slipping punches and countering.

It remains to be seen if Triple G can take advantage of the openings that Canelo gives him. He's not used to having to land punches inside such small windows like he will have to do to land on Canelo. I guess you could make the argument that Lara and Trout could have gone either way. They were close but clear for Canelo if you look at the significant punches landed. What made them close was the stylistic advantages Trout and Lara had on Canelo. Canelo overcame those stylistic advantages to win those fights and pretty impressively I might add. VS Floyd much of what we're talking about was on display, but Canelo just wasn't consistent enough throughout. It was back and forth though and I just can't fathom how anyone who really considers themself a serious boxing fan could state that they thought that was a Mayweather shutout. I've come to the conclusion that fans are just in complete head-in-the-sand denial about this fight and yeah that's very contrary to the Floyd Sr Bop Bop Bing Bop corner instructions. Obviously Senior must have been concerned with what he was seeing Canelo do to his son to have to point out that he had to bop and bing and all that to be beat Canelo. If he was schooling Canelo 12 rounds to 0 then why the hell would Senior have to be that vocal with Floyd in the corner . . .

With fighters like Arguello you could more or less know what to expect since in every fight he seemed a carbon copy stylistically of the previous one. In contrast Canelo is a multi-stylistic fighter who can go from cautious counterpuncher to deadly slugger when the opportunity presents itself. Not sure if triple G is that flexible. If not-that might be his undoing.

Why do Canelo fans never bring up what Canelo did to Chavez,Khan,Smith,Cotto,Trout,Lara,Mayweather,Hatton have I missed any?as an argument to back up their imagined points as to why Canelo beats GGG.
I'd say they're embarrassed to even bring em up,sure if you wanna talk names Canelo wins hands down but where's the acclimation in all these fights up to middleweight and to face someone as strong as GGG.
The plan to wait two years and fight an old man is gonna backfire as GGG has baited him perfectly,Canelo ain't gonna be able to stand it as he's never faced any power ever, maybe a drained Kirkland who had him wobbling ill give him that but GGG power nah.

This. Canelo has a bad habit of waiting to counter and getting tagged for it. Floyd was tagging Canelo all day. Cotto when he wasn't foolishly fighting off the ropes was schooling Canelo in the middle of the ring. If GGG keeps his jab going I can see him out boxing Canelo, but even Floyd barely got a decision over Canelo so GGG has to go for the stoppage to win.

El Pollo has never fought anyone as good as Golovkin. Golovkin is not Chavez, Jr., nor is he Cotto.................When El Pollo gets his feathers knocked off what will he do? Go to the ropes? When El Pollo has to take time off during a round, what will happen then? El Pollo can't fight 3 minutes per round..................Golovkin has he power, the skills, the jab, etc.,
