Bullies ward around the ring and stops him, sorry fellas wards style is very physical. He roughs you up and pushes his way inside to avoid getting hit, wouldn't work against a dude like Marciano who has the physical and workrate advantage lol.
Come on now It's fun to think about! And Ward has been flapping his lips about a move up to HW! I could have been really mean and did a Ward v.s Prime Vitali thread But Rocky is at least close in size to Ward. Son Of Judges still gets his skull cracked apart and stopped
I'm a Marciano fan but I have to feel bad for Moore there. Let's admit it, Archie really was by far the better technical fighter. He's got a fine jab, a clever stance the way he protects himself, he manages to slip a ton of Marciano's punches, a good bob n weave; he seems to have a knack of turning with the punches to take off the sting, he's got good timing with those short little hooks of his and catches Rocky coming in several times. If there was any justice he would have won that fight. Instead Rocky ran him over like a truck. The sheer physicality of Marciano was scary.
Just like Kov, Lomachenko was another fighter who failed to get dirty with a fighter who was fouling him all night long with low blows, head-butts, and elbows with what seemed like full referee approval. During post-fight interview he was asked why he didn't retaliate in order to discourage the fouling and he just chuckled and said that he had no excuses. As for Marciano, I never saw any fighter getting blatantly dirty with him. But he does give me the overall impression that he wouldn't have the patience to put up with such trash for too long.
Rocky was a BRUTAL fighter no doubt. And he carried his strength and power all through the fight. His endurance was incredible
Muhammad Ali...said Marciano deserved his atg status. That is enough for me. in an interview after he (Ali) had retired he was questioned as to the reason he left during the rounds he fought for the computer match with Marciano. He said the reason was that Marciano had punched his body and arms so much and he did not want to continue because of it. He was highly praising Marciano's abilities...even though Marciano was in his 40's at the time. Ali had a lot of respect for Marciano ...even if various keyboard warriors in todays time do not. I have a lot of respect for Ali...so his appraisal is enough for me.
