What really hurts boxing is that Conor is boxing Floyd, by far the biggest name in Boxing, as opposed to boxing someone like Canelo, GGG, or Loma.

Conor is a massive draw. Conor venturing into boxing is a massive event in itself. 2 million + buys would have come in if Conor were boxing one of the above names.

Would be huge for boxing if the casuals see a young boxer be dominant, instead of being somewhat dominated by Floyd in debatably boring fights like they have on the big stage for the past decade. Seeing someone like GGG mash McGregor's skull into the crowd would be huge, or watching Loma dance and move around the ring like a video game character while making Conor look stupid.

Unfortunately, all of those guys I named are foreign. Making it extremely difficult to get a mainstream american following when you can't cut a promo to sell yourself and your fights to people.

Maybe it'll be better if boxing if Floyd loses! We might see Conor stay in boxing for a bit. Get a couple of marquee fights while making a few new stars on the way.

Listen fanboy, UFC is going DOWN in this fight, in more ways that one. Once McFraud hits the canvas, out cold, everyone will know what true boxing fans have known all along - that the Sweet Science is a true sport, and that boring, pale immitator, UFC/MMA is a joke that will, appropriately be regarded as a disreputable fringe sport, designed to appeal to grown up WWE fans and others too unsophisticated to appreciate boxing!

If Conor loses, MMA has nothing to worry about because he is supposed to lose. It's the fact that he is even in a position to try that intrigues. But if Conor wins, it will once and for all prove that mixed martial artists are undoubtedly superior to boxers in every conceivable sense of the word.

floyd himself has been quoted as saying his body does not perform like it used to, so no, floyd lost his "0" to father time already. the question is, can a past prime atg boxer, outbox a young, prime, big ko puncher at the apex of mma combat.

Ah, I see you are already developing the post-fight talking points you will employ after McFraud is destroyed next week.

haha Floyd thinks he was the biggest name in boxing when he retired. Pacquiao took that status in the a blink of an eye...actually i'd say he took it in 2008.

So many boxers who failed at boxing have told me they went to UFC or MMA afterwards because MMA/UFC was easier. This is fact. I know of a dozen or more in the last 10 years who have done and said this, Not my words but theirs.

That brings up an entirely new question. Is Father Time when your skills and speed start to deteriorate? Or when your speed and skills have deteriorated to the point that you're not effective?

And another point, after watching 20+ hours of Floyd interviews and 24/7's, the only thing I would believe that comes out of Floyd's mouth is when he says he's gonna beat you.

No disrespect to you or Pac, but if Floyd boxed on free tv like Pac did a month ago, i can assure you it would have performed better than a 1.6 rating. By a ton.

I bet 70% of casual/buy big ppv boxing "fans" had no clue that Pac even fought on espn, let alone that he lost.

Floyd will be in his element. McGregor is great for an mma striker, but he is not in his element. He definitely can't box with Floyd, but he can brawl, corner, and pressure him especially with having a size and age advantage over Floyd. The only things going for McGregor.

Having an unbelievable amount of confidence and swagger also helps. Unfortunately for Conor, he's boxing a guy that matches him in those areas.

father time wins as soon as a persons body starts to deteriorate instead of improve, that happens differently depending on countless reasons, but it usually happens in the early 30s.
if the only thing you believe is what comes out of floyds mouth, then you are beyond help and a waste of time.

No, i said i don't believe what comes out of Floyd's mouth. He says he's not as fast, not as good, etc.. Which is true, but I believe he's saying it to put doubt into the minds of those who think this is a wash and a waste of money. Make them think that even Floyd thinks Conor can beat him.

Floyd lies, a lot. As you guys probably know a lot better than me. Hilarious (unless you actually, you know, bought the fights) to hear him talk about how he's gonna sit and bang before every fight because that's what the fans deserve, and then do close to the exact opposite on fight night. Over and Over.

    my mistake, then.
floyd should win, even as past prime as he is. but it's not going to look like the 2 sides expect. both sides are being blown up bigger than they really are at this point in time. both sides will claim a victory after the fight for different reasons, and none will admit being wrong about anything.
