Thats how floyd operates. He won't even let Conor wear Reyes foam padded gloves. He let Manny wear Reyes gloves because he would have looked scared if he didn't. But he wouldn't let manny wear reyes that are padded with horse hair, only foam.

 

i thought the same but to be honest why would he give away what he is trying to do in the ring? Thats conors biggest advantage floyd has never seen him box.

also paulis face looked ****ed up bad and conor looked fine.

And yes, if Floyd came out of retirement to get to 50-0 and it was on ESPN, it would have done better.

I can't speak on a boxer's popularity outside of the United States, but I can say with pretty much 100% certainty that Mayweather is the most popular boxer in America. I don't think it's even that close.

and yes. CONOR does not have a boxing skills. But how many times Conor,his team,Dana,Skip,many open minded observers say it will not be a boxing match.it will be a FIGHT.

and yes Conor is counter puncher. but i guarantee Conor does not try to outbox Floyd and use traditional hippie boxing footwork. Conor will jump in and out. Bullrush,wrestling stance,karate stance etc.. Conor will come after Floyd. Either Conor or Floyd drops.

You are about to be in for one serious reality check. This fight will not be remotely competitive, Mayweather will beat up and stop McGregor with ease, making him look slow, uncoordinated and clueless in the process.

 

I sure hope that they're paying you to write this ****. Because if they're not, then I despair for the future of fighting sports. Only the most deluded or ignorant Conor fans seriously believe that he has a chance.

Mind you, I am not exactly a fan of Floyd, so if he somehow gets KO'd (very goddamn unlikely) it will be like Christmas here He'll finally have proven how much he actually sucks

Boxing is dead? Sorry but what kind of ring are they fighting in? Boxing will always be #1 and that's just because it's more of a spectacle. Any time I watch UFC expecting a big war as people tell me, half the fights end up being on the ground with nothing happening for about 3-4 minutes of a round. Of cpurse you have guys like Conor but they are few and far between. Casual fans want to watch people bust each other up, not hug each other for 10 minutes.

An unlikely win for Conor isn't gonna make "UFC the main combat sport". 1. Because UFC is a company, the sport is MMA. 2. Anyone with half a brain knows Conor is special and does not represent MMA exclusively, but his own striking first style. Nobody is stupid enough to think if 100 MMA guys entered a pro boxing match that there would be any more than 1-2 wins for them if matched similarly to Conor and Floyd.

MMA fans have a serious inferiority complex. Boxing in general put sup way bigger numbers than MMA in total and it's as simple as that. And guess what? if Conor somehow wdoes ok we'll get a few more boxing matches featuring him so boxing can't lose.

 

I think if there's any victory to be had for boxing over MMA in this, it would be if Floyd let Conor eat the right hand for a round or 2 and then stops him with a body shot. It would shut down this whole "MMA tough guy" agenda.

 

Exactly. You can't beat the entertainment value of boxing. When those UFC fights hit the ground, it's BORING - which is why they have to dress that **** up with WWE-style macho posturing and pyrotechnics.
