Who was the better all-around fighter, Primo Carnera or Riddick Bowe?

    We have world champions saying the opposite too.
    That he was very hard to reach.
    Had marvelous defense.
    Hit really hard.
    Was very tough.
    etc.

    I could say the same: "You of course know better!"

    We also have a guy who sparred Bowe, Holyfield, Tua, Foreman, Wlad, and Lewis. And said that Bowes punches were the only ones that didn't bother him.

    Is it a complete argument to just bring up the unfavorable testimonials? No.

    Benny Leonard said that Carnera had marvelous defense.
    Schmeling said he had the leverage in his punches to penetrate any defense.

    No one said he hit really hard did they,you just made that up! Who said he was really tough?
    He quit against Baer,Louis ,and Haynes.

    they are very different fighters. Riddick liked working in close. Carnera was more of a Vit Klitschko, using the distance, height, except of course he was able to win the full title unlike the lesser vits.

    Whatever you need to tell yourself to keep alive that revisionist fairy tale of yours. I'm fine with letting Carnera's fighting speak for itself (via the streamable clips).

    It is obvious that whatever evidence I produce, you will simply dismiss it out of hand.

    It is equally obvious that you are not going to bring any new evidence to the table.

    This being the case, we might as well accept that we are irreconcilable on the subject.

    I agree that we need to accept that our views our irreconcilable. But just to be clear, you are the one who completely ignored the evidence that I provided for you. I don't recall you providing any evidence at all--only subjective characterizations of their relative abilities.

    I am sorry but the only evidence that you have provided is the tired old folklore, which is all very well known to us.

    All of the new evidence has been presented by those arguing the case for Carnera.

    To be fair though Janitor, I could then post link's to all the youtube fights with Primo in them, some of which show his amateurness and call that new evidence? Rez, took clips, and made a compilation video, that isn't "new" evidence at all though is it?

    I provided you a multitude of clips showcasing some of Carnera's many flaws and limitations, which you then completely ignored, even when I asked you about them multiple times. Did you forget about this somehow??
