Pea might've been better at 135.

    Floyd was better 140+

Whitaker would have outworked Mayweather. He wins through sheer business.

I think Pernell as greater. Floyd has handpicked his way to a legacy.

I prefer to use the word "timed"lol, but yes he is the goat picker...He has all the names on his resume, but you look closer and they are shop worn, drained or green(Canelo) or coming off a loss..

pernell was better PURELY DEFENSIVELY, if he did not want you to hit him, YOU WONT HIT HIM, but he does not transition from defense to offense as well as floyd and id ask someone show me evidence that he could adapt the way floyd does. tommy hearns is the only guy id 100% take over floyd

Whittaker mixed it up good enough to be robbed on the cards with Chavez...That jumps out at me. I think he beats Floyd everytime ! Matches him in defence and up close is the better fighter

I think this is completely off, Floyd sticks to more textbook approaches with far less fluidity in transition than Whitaker. Mayweather fights too negatively even during his prime.
Whitaker adapts to his opponent from the very beginning - he doesn't lose a number of early rounds like Floyd does before adapting. Whitaker had a brilliant inside game, better body punching, better on the back foot. Floyd's tools are more limited but he rigs the fight to favour this.

Whitaker only loses to Napoles, Hearns, Leonard, Duran (but probably beats him at 147).
Floyd hasn't beaten the names to 'prove' he's better than Whitaker in either case.

Whitaker wins going away (as long as he doesn't clown too much).
People look at the ko ratio and think Pea couldn't punch,
he had a very heavy jab and he went to the body viciously, he just
chose not to finish people. One of the things you need to beat Floyd
is an excellent jab and the ability to throw it and not get countered.

    This. Is. Pernell.
He goes to Floyd's body, and jabs him. He stays on the inside and his
fights have shown he's far more rugged than Floyd is on the inside.

There would be rounds where the most that was thrown was a range finder jab to the body, followed by two minutes and 50 seconds of posturing. It wouldn't even be a fight.

Whitaker UD 116-112. Floyd is known to do most of his eye catching scoring from that sneaky right hand counter. I think Pea, after getting caught with it for a few rounds, will find a way to nullify it with his superb defense.
