Jack Dempsey vs rocky Marciano

Impossible to pick really. They're both in with a great chance. Dempsey has the superior speed, sharpness and movement, Rocky has the superior power, engine and possibly chin. Whoever is able to impose their aggression on the other likely wins. Neither fighter is going to win this going backwards.

Both were ****ing unrelenting. Marciano's chin makes me want to edge it to him but Dempsey's style makes me want to edge it to him!

This fight would probably come down to a ref stoppage.

 

Damn! Dempsey starts fast and would find the rock and maybe even drop him, but standing in front of the Brockton blockbuster trading bombs could spell doom. I feel the same as Mr. DagoWop, Rocky has a sleight chin advantage, can't see this fight getting out of the third round. Could make Hagler and Hearns look like a Mayweather fight

It would be such a wonderful exhibition of defensive fighting, balletic, both happy to win on points, no desire for a ko...........................and now in the real world, a war that i see Dempsey winning.

Gotta be honest, I never saw this one coming.

 

Can't compare Marciano to Dempsey except as a puncher. Dempsey the far more skilled fighter. Dempsey by TKO in eight rounds.

 

Marciano proved himself against a tier of fighter that Dempsey never beat.

That said, what happens to the universe of the Rock connects with his Suzy Q at the exact moment William lands his Willard crushing left hook? Do the cosmic seams burst and spill out Skittles and universal income for everyone?

 

Stylistically Dempsey holds the aces here.

He is the better finisher of the two, and he is more dangerous in the early rounds.

That is not to say that Dempsey is the better fighter of the two necessarily, but the chances are that he would get to Marciano before Marciano got to him.

 

Does Marciano get to stand over his downed opponents? I bet that would have made him an even better finisher than he actually was... Which was pretty dann great.
