Many let their BIAS get in the way, no doubt about it WARD is an ATG

I recognize that Ward is very very skilled at what he does, as a boxer and a ring tactician he is excellent. But to me he will never be an all time great due to the manner in which he got there. He straight up cheats in virtually every fight, whether it is using his head, or the elbows or the low blows. I can't respect a man for that. To him it is win at all costs. Well one of those costs is legacy.

 

HOF yes. But why so many people give these ATG titles like candies? Ward is not all time great.

CJ and farmboxer. Somewhat correct yes,but grow set of balls please. Ward is dirty and bordeline illegal with his tactics. But you cry like girls that. Life is unfair so is boxing and fighting.

Ward is not an all time great. Ward has two wins over Kovalev.. Regardless of what people say here. It's like taking away a draw from Pacquiao for hitting Marquez while he was down in their 1st fight.. Utterly useless. Move on

 

He sure knows how to win, not every fight is going to be a clean and technical display. How many times has Holyfield headbutted people, as long as you win and the ref is slow or bought, it's in the game.

 

To be specific, he is an ATG.

 

ok ward was outboxing him and coming on strong in that very same round , he hurt kova with a headshot and was finishing him off the final blow which landed was BORDERLINE. but if you cant tell me kova was done before that shot your ****ing crazy, he was a defeated man and ward was only coming on stronger

and iv been around here for a long time, iv seen CJ's posts and guys like him, they have made up there minds long ago and nothing will sway them (forgivable seeing as you have only been here 6 months give or take but im sure you will learn very fast)

 

bit early to calling him an ATG after just one LHW win, albeit an elite one.

Hes not HoF yet. I personally believe one needs to pass through HoF to some degree in order to be elevated to ATG.

If he unifies at LHW, OR beats a fairly prime ATG/HoF, or does something historically significant, then he has a case for HoF, and we'll take it from there.

 

He's trash and the allowed low blows and paid off judges weren't the only corruption in his last two fights.

 

I don't like Kovalev as a man. I did used to find him entertaining to watch after he destroyed Cleverly. I did think he'd beat Ward in a close fight. I do think he beat Ward in a competitive fight. Then the rematch happened and I still don't know what to think. Ward was a little dirty yes, but Kovalev fought worse and folded when it got rough so he gets little sympathy from me the second time round.

 

hof? sure but Atg? um no . was of the dirtiest fighters in boxing. and also extremely boring to watch.

 

I agree with your assessment of the majority of what you say except that last shot because the photo doesn't show that last shot as borderline. About people's opinions never changing I misunderstood that you were referring to people in general and not just fight fans on this forum. Thanx for the clarification.

 

The trouble that I notice most people have with that claim isn't that he lacks skills.
The trouble they have is their perception that he uses illegal ways to win in addition to those skills.
If he could just refrain from using those illegal methods along with his skills then I'm sure that most people wouldn't find that claim as dubiously unacceptable.

 

I thought Weeks was so great after Floyd Maidana 1? Now he should be fired? lol
