I don't understand how Floyd is only a 4 to 1 favorite. When this fight was first being discussed as a possibility, people were putting the odds at like 50 to 1. Why do so many people all of a sudden think Conor has such a good chance? I mean nothing has really changed from the time this fight was first proposed to now. Unless people think a fix is in, I don't see how the odds have narrowed so much. I mean, I doubt Conor would beat any top-100 junior middleweight in his debut boxing match. I just don't get it.

    Exactly.

This fight is a freak show, a unique, competitive freak show.

Put McGregor in the ring with GGG or Andre Ward, Mystic Mac would lose hands down....

    My opinion of course.

Do you think he'll have the courage to face Conor in the octagon under mma rules?

I don't think he'll fight him under MMA rules. I could see him maybe doing it if he they modified the rules somewhat, such as banning submissions. Also, the UFC pays so little to their fighters, I could see the money being a big issue as well.

But for me, the main factor is power. For a boxer to be successful in an MMA fight, he needs to have good one-punch KO power, ala Ray Mercer. Otherwise, the opponent isn't going to have respect for your power and will be willing to eat a few shots in order to charge in and take you to the ground. Floyd isn't going to be able to just pot-shot McGregor the whole fight and win on points like he could in a boxing match. His only chance is a quick knockout and that would be tough, especially when he's got to worry about not only punches, but kicks, knees, elbows, chokes, takedowns, etc. Plus, I don't know if Floyd's hands would hold up with those 4-ounce gloves, especially if he's trying to land something big for the KO. And Floyd isn't going to be able to learn how to become an elite level grappler at age 40, so he can't afford to let it go to the ground. The only way I could see this fight happening is if Floyd needs money really bad.

Didn't PAC take an injection prior to the fight for his shoulder as well?
I just don't understand why this is even being discussed.

That is what courage is all about, isn't it? Overcoming the odds and taking chances to prove that your skills can hold-up under difficult conditions, a la Conor.

It's a great event, but it won't be a great fight. You'll see Floyd give a boxing clinic making Conor miss and then get countered. It's going to be a total beating. The thing is, it's no disrespect to Conor, I actually believe he's a better boxer than most give him credit for, but he's facing a p4p great boxer in his first pro boxing fight. That's a complete no-no, even top boxers take tune-ups before facing a top level boxer. This will be a boxing lesson. Floyd by stoppage, gatti style.

Reputation is definetly on line. It's cold hard truth. I love boxing and don't want it to die(because i enjoy the stand up fighting most) but if Floyd loses boxing will die to casuals. Conor
is already one of the biggest sporting starts in world. Bigger than Floyd worldwide.
If guy comes from MMA and KO's the so called TBE it will mark the end of boxing.

who casual want to see Canelo after that?Canelo was destroyed by Floyd.now comes MMA guy and KO's Floyd.

i have said that Floyd is the rightful favourite.but first couple of rounds Conor has a true chance to shock the world. somewhat i hope that Conor wins so everybody would go bananas. But it would be a sad day for a boxing. I mean really sad. I don't understand how someone can deny this?

but in big picture it doesn't matter.we are bring of a world collapse.

So in the end this all speculation is somewhat stupid.

Just goodluck for everyone around the world.

This Conor guy coming up the ranks and beating undefeated Money Mayweather who is American is almost written in stars in big picture.

This is the other option for the fight.

No way this will go past 7-8rounds. Even 6 could be reaching.

hope can find somewhere stream for this match. I'm mega interested.but refuse to pay for these millionairs 60€(price in finland)

i hope the PPV flops and the arena will be empty.not going to happen but still
