Scrub out Oliver mccall from 1994 against Lewis, and replace him with James bone crusher Smith from the 86 Witherspoon ko. Smith came out charging at spoon that night and threw everything at him, and it paid off. Whatever the reason s behind spoons state of mind, the fact is Smith absolutely belted him to defeat. Mccall s win over Lewis was more of a sudden one punch that caught lennox, not like smiths clubbing of Tim. So if Lewis was facing Smith in the same mind zone as mccall, and Smith comes out the same way as in his fight with Tim, does that make for a loss for lennox? Or does Lewis react differently with a different approach coming his way?
It's not unreasonable to think that Lewis will get knocked out, when Bonecrusher is being that aggressive something has to stick. Not only that, Bonecrusher had immense power. Any of his punches could hurt you. Just look at what he did to titanium chinned Tim Witherspoon, obviously there are other things in the equation but to do that to Tim Witherspoon you had to have some power.
That's my line of thinking slugger to. Of all the heavy weight alphabet boys from the 80 s he could produce some power. Himself and weaver. If he came out like he did against spoon, and Lewis takes him lightly, then we could see lennox in real trouble. Spoon, Bruno and ruddock could all testify to the crushers power.
"Lewis would still stop him." Of course that's the most *probable* outcome, but no one has presented any reason that it is at all prima facie implausible that Bonecrusher could accomplish as much with a lucky punch as McCall or Rahman. Is this even worth disputing? What exactly is worthy of discussion here?
If he fought the same as the Tyson fight, he wouldn't get knocked out. Bare in mind he did have an Iron chin. It's probable that Lewis would knock him out 9/10 or decision him if he hugs Lewis to death. But there is always that very high chance that Bonecrusher will catch him with a Bonecrusher.
It was a flawed version of Lewis but i just don't think Bonecrusher would be the man to exploit him. I don't think the Tyson Crusher overly counts because Lewis is immensely different to Tyson. So much taller, bigger and such a totally different fighter. If you could weather Tyson's early assault you had a great chance of going the distance.
It's a thread. Where people give their opinions. Where nothing is impossible. Because we will never know. I favor Lewis by stoppage.
