He has not made enough money to retire comfortably. He needs better management and promotion behind him. Move to the UK and try and sign with Hearn.

I can't blame him for becoming disillusioned with the sport, he's getting screwed in and out of the ring.

 

First fight no. But boy he was so defeated in the second fight. Outboxed, hurt backing up just looking lost and defeated... ward was just a beast that night

Ike Quartey syndrome. Once you feel like it has betrayed you it becomes hard to love the sport of boxing. If you don't love the sport, it will be hard to make a return climb to championship heights.

 

If Kovalev dont want to fight anymore thats up to him. But two losses is nothing in a fighters career , but these days you loose a fight and people call you a bum. One day they love you next day they hate you.

A fighter should never forget this is a entertainment business and its about getting paid. Krusher worked hard to make a name for himself and that branding alone is worth some paydays. I had Kovey winning the first fight 115-112 but it was by no means a robbery, it was a sloppy fight with many rounds that could have gone either way. Second fight had a controversial stoppage, but the ref saved his life by giving him a way out. Kovey is 34, he just bounced his best punches off a SMW's head for 20 rounds and got no effect, and can barely make weight. Retirement is his best option.
