but Ward is on his way. Another top win or title and he is in the elite level. HOF is different.. Which is probably Cotto.. Kovalev to me has not yet made the HOF level.. I think he was disappointing with Ward in the second fight. Talked tough and was actually softened up and knocked out.

 

For sure. Just to be clear, I'm not doing down Kovalev I'm just wondering if Cleverly gets enough credit for his mental resilience.

He is past his prime and got screwed over against Ward twice, if he doesnt care about boxing anymore he should retire, if he doesnt he at least has 2 more fights left in him. The young guns are waiting for him.

elite means u beat all except perhaps other elites. kovalevs resume is described perfectly by this. He is a strong case for elite.

 

Hope Kovalev does what is right for him.
I can imagine it must feel very disheartening to feel you have won a fight that many felt he won, only to not get the decision and to lose a return by suffering what looked a low blow and the ref just calling it off.

 

He's an exiting fighter. I hope he gets into good fights soon, i would have loved for him to face chickenson instead of Ward
