It was a real fight for McGregor. For Mayweather it was an exhibition match, even in those early rounds where Conor had the most success you could immediately see the difference between them.

Conor chin in the air, overly wide stance, wasting energy with unnecessary movements, couldn't throw a hook, arm punches, no inside game etc. It was like Mayweather had picked someone out of the crowd to fight. Conor didn't look like a pro boxer, which he isn't of course, he looked every bit the novice.

I agree that it could have been fake for the reasons you just provided. The only thing I disagree with is the you contradict yourself by saying that Connors was cunningly holding back his punches in order not to hurt Mayweather and then say that Mayweather could have finished him off whenever he chose. They were either in on it together to put on a fake show or they weren't. Which is it?

    BTW
Connors wasn't powder-puff arm punching in his sparring sessions with Mallignaggi so he definitely does know how to put power into his punch.

    Haven't seen it.
Obviously was a fake as soon as it was signed though.
I'm not surprised people bought it, I mean people buy WWE and stuff just for entertainment .... But I'm surprised that any boxing fan would expect this to be anything more than a circus show.
It was never meant to be a real or serious thing.
It's a shame boxing people endorsed and sanctioned it but its great these guys made themselves some money.

    Yo
    You are misinterpreting I think.

Conors punches had NOTHING on them cause he is a BUM.

Mayweather is a smart business person so he wanted to drag the fight out longer.

People keep saying "IT WAS A COMPETITIVE FIGHT", no, it wasn't.

A good way of putting it is like Brighton Bomber said. It was a real fight for McGregor, but not for Floyd. He ALLOWED him to continue fighting, if Mayweather wanted to end it in 6, he could have.

it was CERTAINLY a competitive fight up until Conor was truly spent.
I don't see the logic as to why Mayweather 'allowed' Conor to win at least 4 rounds.
He didn't know Conor was going to end up THAT gassed after round 6.

The problem I have with that interpretation is that Connors does indeed know how to put power into his punches and didn't. How to put power into a punch is basic to the martial arts. Neither was he demonstrating all the usual mobility that he does when boxing during MMA matches. That makes it far more likely to me that if indeed there was fakery involved it was upon mutual agreement.

Yes I suspected that May would carry Conor and allow him to get into the 5 or 6th round before stepping on the gas, and this is how it turned out

You cannot look at Conor's stance or his boxing ability and not conclude that May carried him, to give the fans a fight. I think a lot of people would have felt robbed had May just blown him out of there inside 2-3 rounds.

Conor did well for the first 4 rounds, but that was only because May was just sitting there and waiting. Conor does not have some kind of talent as a boxer, he was just carried for entertainment value

Martial artists are taught from the start not to arm punch. As a fervent student of Bruce Lee Connors knows full well not to arm punch and that the power of a punch is generated from the hips and legs and torqueing of torso working in conjunction. So if Connors was pitter pattering it can only indicate that he was purposefully carrying Mayweather as Mayweather was carrying him as mutually planned.

    BTW
Why do you keep mentioning hate? Because you hate?

They can probably work out some kind of a drama sequence where Pauli loses by a narrow margin on points in order to get a rematch and rake in more of your money.

Even if Connors legitimately and honestly won boxing would not lose anything since it could only mean that the better boxer won.
