Mayweather/McGregor Fight Discussion

Owned the ring with mayweather just walking him down eh.... Pmsl

It was so easy Floyd never even had to try hard, just walk in straight lines was enough.

Take a little time to Think about how it went for a mo, it was easy work!

Floyd just didn't give a toss and fought like he didn't too...

But if you UFC fans want to think anything else, then feel free. It won't change a damn thing..

Jesus Christ Floyd was just marching forward without a care in the world as he knew conor has no power in boxing and no skill. Just a weight bully and fit guy.

Does any one think that Floyd did not carry McGregor and then finish him after I show was put on? I think that is what happened. I want McGregor to box a younger boxer with power such as Sergey Kovalev and then see how good he is.

I thought it was a very good exhibition fight. Floyd did a great job carrying McGregor the first 4-5 rounds.

 

I love the way Floyd deliberately let himself be repeatedly countered with the uppercut.

To be honest, I thought Conor's fans would have gone into hiding for a good fortnight, but they still can't comprehend that they backed the wrong horse, hilarious that they don't see Mayweather gave Conor those 2-3 rounds for free.

You'd think only throwing 6 shots in two rounds might be a clue, but nope, there are none so blind as those who won't see.

 

I know Mayweather beating a guy making his debut is nothing to brag about but after everything that has been said about McGregor and his supposed murderous punching, it turns out that by boxing standards he actually has absolutely no power what so ever. I have no doubt that Paulie Malignaggi hits a lot harder and that Amir Khan could walk through his punches whilst laughing at him. I'm not exaggerating or being hyperbolic when I say this either.

Yet this guy has 86% KO/TKO ratio in MMA which just shows how defenseless and glass jawed many of these guys must be.

What was also striking is that despite McGregor being younger, significantly bigger and having grappling experience, he got easily outmuscled and bossed about in the clinch and whenever he tried any rough stuff. Then on top of that he also has the gas tank of an asthmatic chain smoker.

Mayweather clearly carried him to try and give the fans a bit of show and not make it look like the total mismatch it was. He threw a total of 25 punches in the first three rounds to try and let McGregor work and at one point was even barking orders at him telling him he needed to do more to make a fight of it.

 

What's this carrying McGregor stuff all about? McGregor was literally dead on his feet by round 10 and Floyd still couldn't put him down, while throwing the kitchen sink at him.

It was the worst version of Floyd I've ever seen and he won the fight easily. But you can't say he bloody carried McGregor, that's ridiculous. If Floyd went for the kill earlier in the fight he was open for a big counter and that's why he waited for Conor to tire. That's called a good game plan, not carrying a fighter.

Are people upset because Conor showed he can hang at a decent level of boxing? Jesus lads don't worry. Floyd is 40, visibly a shadow of his younger self in the ring and still managed to beat Conor conclusively before the 12th. Can we really not bring ourselves to give the debutant some praise? He landed more shots than Pacquaio. We know it's a worse version of Floyd but that's still impressive from a guy boxing for the first time.

Saying Floyd held back or whatever is ridiculous. He was caught with a bomb in round one that let him know he was in a fight. As if Floyd would risk his precious 0 to carry a renowned knockout artist who was landing shots every round.

 

Stop with the inapplicable clichés already.

 

Really for MMA fans, a feather fisted 40 year Mayweather who is a defensive fighter with low KOs was going forward and putting pressure on one of MMA best fighter and basically almost knocked him out. What would have happened with McGregor if it was an offensive boxer like GGG?

The bad thing is that Mayweather allowed McGregor to play around, I understand money and so and so for, but you should respect your own sport that feeds you and Mayweather should have humilitiated that MMA fighter instead of playing with him.
