Because I keep telling you doesn't make it any less true does it! Those who thought he was unbeatable had what to compare him to? Three previous heavyweight champions and a handful of decent contenders who wouldn't go 6 rounds with rated pros today!

Well they had two hundred years of boxing champions, and whatever came after him in their lifetimes.

Besides, you don't know what would happen if these contenders fought rated pros today.

I think its silly to suggest and especially so if you're talking about any pre-SHW era champion, that theyd beat Ali and Louis the same night. But, if they're trolling I might feed the troll.

I can say the same thing about myself with equal veracity.

    No you cant.

If you even think that you might have a chance against a Michael Dokes type contender, then I am willing to be your manager.

My point being that he was saying nothing. I can say nothing about myself, also.

Jeffries opponents fall into the same general size range as most champions before the 70s.

Johnson, Dempsey, Louis, Marciano, Liston all built their resumes against men in the 175-200lb size range for the most part.
You can argue the case either way on Jeffries power.

What I would say, is that he was probably not one of the all time heavyweight finishers, and leave it at that.
    Here I have to disagree.

The best available contenders over most of Jeffries title reign were white.

Johnson and McVea only became potential challengers very late in the day, and nobody seems to have given them much of a chance against Jeffries, including the people who criticized him for not fighting them.
    No I don't.

I think that he raised the bar considerably, in terms of both number and quality of title defenses.

His decision to draw the color line was unfortunate, but it didn't do him any good in the end.

Jeffries was considered by many writers and fighters themselves, that shared a contemporary timeline to be an outstanding champion.

Jeffries WAS undefeated. There is not much more you can do than that.

He had incredible stamina and ability to take punishment, good power and good movement. I have always imagined him to be much like a George Chuvalo, or Rudduck/Golota crosss had he competed in the modern era.

He was a top notch athlete, and could have played in any sport at a professional level. The man was no slouch at ANYTHING.

Many like to denigrate him, but cannot specify what flaw makes him so weak, or unable to compete.

What he was saying, was that we cant pin down what Jeffries was head to head, in the same way that we can say Jack Sharkey.

    Can you?
Do your credentials come close to Jeffries?

If not, than the notion sounds far more silly coming from you.

What he was saying is that Jeffries MAY have been superhuman or MAY have been beaten by B-level modern opposition.

I MAY be superhuman and I certainly MAY be beaten by B (or Z) level competition. As long as it is unprovable either way, I win and can prolong my fantasy.

Okay lets put Jack Munroe in with any top ten rated heavyweight you name him and tell me who wins!
